Streetcorner Symphony Lyrics
It's morning
I wake up
The taste of summer sweetness on my mind
It's a clear day
In this city
Let's go dance under the street lights
All the people in this world
Let's come together
More than ever
I can feel it
Can you feel it
Come on over
Down to the corner
My sisters and my brothers of every different color
Can't you feel that sunshine telling you to hold tight
Things will be alright
Try to find a better life
Come on over
Down to the corner
My sisters and my brothers there for one another
Come on over
Man I know you wanna let yourself go
Some people
It's a pity
They go all their lives and never know
How to love or to let love go
But it's alright now
We'll make it through this somehow
And we'll paint the perfect picture
All the colors of this world will run together more than ever
I can feel it
Can you feel it
We may never find our reason to shine
But here and now this is our time
And I may never find the meaning of life
But for this moment I am fine
So
I wake up
The taste of summer sweetness on my mind
It's a clear day
In this city
Let's go dance under the street lights
All the people in this world
Let's come together
More than ever
I can feel it
Can you feel it
Down to the corner
My sisters and my brothers of every different color
Can't you feel that sunshine telling you to hold tight
Things will be alright
Try to find a better life
Come on over
Down to the corner
My sisters and my brothers there for one another
Come on over
Man I know you wanna let yourself go
It's a pity
They go all their lives and never know
How to love or to let love go
But it's alright now
We'll make it through this somehow
And we'll paint the perfect picture
All the colors of this world will run together more than ever
I can feel it
Can you feel it
But here and now this is our time
And I may never find the meaning of life
But for this moment I am fine

Wow, this song is such a highlight in "Something To Be"...it has the instant power of making me smile. It might sound a little shallow but for me it's not at all. It reminds you to keep your eyes open, not to dwell into not-so-important stuff, and to hold on to the things that really matters. It gives me a summer, a holiday feeling, very much like "Sunday Morning" by Maroon 5. I love this kind of songs that make you want to jump out of bed, despite of all your duties.
"We may never find our reason to shine, but here and now this is our time... And I may never find the meaning of life, but for this moment I am fine..."
Those lyrics are beautiful, inspiring and touching at the same time for me.
Great song, but John Mayer was a joke. No offense to him, he's a decent guitarist. He's a talented musician. But I don't think he's a good songwriter. Thankfully, he didn't co-write. This song is great however. John didn't do half bad.
Why is John Mayer a joke?. I think he's a good musician and songwriter, in his own style. It's a matter of taste, I guess.
This song is just inspiring...
Great Song! It such a fun song to listen to and puts me in a good mood...they use this in the commercial for the season premeire of Grey's Anatomy! I LOVE THAT SHOW!
definitely one of those happy songs, keeps your mood up, can liift it if its down.
i can't wait for it to be summer so i can blast this song in the mornings! it's gonna be great :) esp. since summer and music are my two favorite things.
this song reminds me of a scene in a movie where the theme is "everything's alright" and the character is in central park or somethin.
This is a catchy song. However it also has a clear agenda. It is brainwashing young people with minds of mush to believe in muliculturalism and globalism.
i love this song. it instantly makes me happy whenever i hear it
@Jay F: Well, if there must be brainwashing, isn't that a good thing to be brainwashed into? I mean, it's better than Nazism for instance...
such an upbeat song... lol
agmlego/jayf - there's no such thing as brainwashing. And I don't really think Rob is talking about that in this song... :-O
