Never Ready To Leave Lyrics

This room's been dusted
And it's covered in prints from
The month you spent with me.
And I've catalogued it,
Arranged the report with a chapter every week
And I've studied sleepless
Biting my nails and grinding my teeth.

And I think I've had it,
But that makes two of us,
'Cause you've had it with me.

And here in the meantime,
I'm a fly on the wall, and glued to the action.
A twist in the plotline,
A demand for a call, the loss of attraction.

And I'll tell you the worst part:
You're exactly the way that I thought you would be
So I'll stay for the last call
'Cause I'll move away, but I'm never ready to leave.
Whoa, whoa.
I'll move away but I'm never ready to leave.

This house is haunted
But not in the way that you've always heard it said
And I'll dust the attic
No razor teeth making camp beneath your bed.

But I've heard them walking late at night
With twins of confusion and regret
And they share ths stories of things that I have done
That I'd rather just forget.

Here in the meantime,
I'm a fly on the wall, and glued to the action.
A twist in the plotline,
A demand for a call, the loss of attraction.

And I'll tell you the worst part:
You're exactly the way that I thought you would be
So I'll stay for the last call
So I'll move away but I'm never ready to leave.
(I'll move away but I'm never ready to leave.)

So this is how it feels to be 24
A theif without a key to an open the door
Just peering through the window
For any clue,
Or anything explaining a part of you.

I guess the real question is, I dont know,
Is, why I am afraid of letting go?

Why am I afraid of letting go?

Here in the meantime,
I'm a fly on the wall, and glued to the action.
A twist in the plotline,
A demand for a call, a loss of attraction.

And I'll tell you the worst part:
You're exactly the way that I thought you would be
So I'll stay for the last call
Cause I'd move away but I'm never ready to leave.

Whoa, whoa

Well I'll move away but I'm never ready to leave.
Cause I'd move away but I'm never ready to leave.
Well I'd move away but I'm never ready to leave.

I think it's about a relationship ending, but he's not ready to completely let go of her, not ready to let go of his feelings.

the relationship has ended and the physical changes have took place but the emotional ones haven't. He's clearly still attatched to her and he's finding it hard to let go and move on.

Unless they changed the title for the album, the title of the song is "Never Ready." That's how it was listed on their MySpace when it was up earlier this month.

also, i think that "So I'll staple the last call" is supposed to be "so i'll stay for the last call" meaning that he's going to hang around the bar until they say last call for all drinks.

Yeah, the two people lived together but then ended on a bad note and the girl moved out. The guy has trouble letting go, whereas the girl seems to have had an easier time (or at least she puts on that face).

I think the call refers to a telephone call... he's constantly waiting for her to call him. He wants the attention.. to know that she still thinks about him just like he thinks about her.

i always thought the song was about when your in your early twenties, and you offically have to grow up and let go of all childish things. he'll move on, but he's never ready to leave that time

It kind of sounds like a relationship that ended rather messy... strange-like. It's over, they are both moving on, but there's some level of confusion there... or maybe it ended suddenly... and the singer is having a hard time letting go... but know that he must.
