Now, I have a question. Is this the other version? Because I know for a fact that the version on the cd has more lyrics to the beginning ang a bit throughout the song. Its a great song nonetheless. First off, I find the title of the song hilarious. Its from "The Catcher In The Rye". On the very first page as a matter of fact. Its supposed to be the title of the collection of short stories Holden's brother writes. Convienently titled, "The Secret Goldfish" What more could you expect from a band that titles themselves from the school in the book? Anyway, its a great song. With a lot of emotion you can feel. I think it sort of portrays exactly how heartbreak is. You kind of never really get over it. At least, you probably don't if you truly loved this person. Heartbreak goes on, because your either constantly thinking about them, or (if you have found someone else) you still sort of wonder to yourself about them. General things like that. Beautifuly written song with amazing lyrics. |

Hm. To me, it seems like he relates drugs to a love interest. Saying how this girl just seems to make everything better for him; make his life worth it. I think he tries to relate that to how drugs make you feel, I guess. And the other half of it: How this girl may have rejected him, or there is certain reasons he should not be with her. Just like drugs are bad for you. I have no idea... thats just what I get out of it. |

I think this song is about politics/bush. I mean, the way he runs the country anyways. "bloody gang of three deep divisions" -meaning the Senate, House of Representatives, and the President "the bad's blood because of war" -saying how they let the president bring the USA into war with Iraq. "international, interracial, confrontational" -pretty self explanitory. "bitter rival, bloody gang of three deep divisions" -portraying the future of the country, and how they will eventually come to disagree with bush. That's my interepretation. And I'm sticking to it. If you think about it, it really does make sense. |

To me, this really has a bit of the 'star-crossed lovers' vibe to it. Two people that cannot, in some way, be together... and are trying to find a way around that. 'We are always searching' --symbolizing them searching for a way to be together. 'Is this the last of our haunting' --Them wondering if this will possibly be the end of their pain, in which they can finally be together. And yes, I agree with NataliesADDICTION about the whole a ghost falling in love with a mortal type thing. The song seems to also have that kind of vibe to it. It's an amazing song. |

This song could mean a lot of things. To me, it means that you can't run away from your problems. In the beginning it seems to be describing how living in this small town diverts your attention away from your dreams, and that shouldn't be the way you'd want to live your life. To me, it seems as if the character goes back and tries to face all the faults and problems he could never deal with before. And pick up some of the things he didn't want to let go of. And that's basically my interpretation. Great song by the way. |

I completely agree with iamthenightstars. And I can really understand your meaning of it. I love the "i'm about to see a million things i thought i'd never see before and i'm about to do all of the things i dreamed of and i don't even miss you at all" part of this song. To me, that part says he's breaking free of whatever was tying him down, and discovering all these new things in his life. That part really truly amazes me. The lyrics are so powerful and very inspiring to just about anyone. |

I think this song is about change. About how people change. It sounds like (as TheRipper said) a few highschool friends are reunited through a mutual friend's funeral. But the main character has remained basically the same throughout his life. His friends have all changed into possibly something they said they never would be, or something they hated back in 'the day'. Its about the main character just wanting to 'Kill All His Friends' for becoming the way they are. Seems also; like there was a girl he might have been good friends with who also might have changed. He hasn't heard from her in 8 years and sees her at the funeral. He's upset because she's changed so much and has to watch her walk out of his life again. Seems to me like this is continuing the story of Demolition Lovers. It has that whole "I'll die for you" vibe. Not exactly what the lyrics are describing to me though. I completely agree with that part about him getting drunk (lights/pavement from van/floor.. ect.) thats sorta what i think the song is about. Finding someone to help you with your problems. Someone to always be there for you. And help you cope with all sorts of shit your going through. | great way to start off thee bullets album. it adds that little mysterious edge to it... like, the way i see it... the song is kinda representing that the music can be like... real idk if "hardcore" is the word im looking for...but n e ways... yeah and be sorta slow and mellow at the same time...
