Getting Weezer-vibes off this song, and most of the album. Love it. Also love all the literary connections SSLYBY pull in their songs. |

I think Jasonbelieveme and trypticsoyagar pretty much got it down. The first couple lines basically establish the setting. As for the helicopter line, I too always think about publicity, but if not, one can maybe assume he's setting his point of view: to view helicopters up in the sky, one obviously has to be facing up and towards the sky, which is easy to do when laying on your back. What I think the main essence of the song is that there is, what I guess I sorta naturally assume to be, a girl who seems to be absorbed in herself. Not so much as in a stuck-up or pretentious way or anything, but simply someone who probably won't or can't care about someone else as much as they do about his/herself. This is exemplified by the lines "That if you could make- ...... -give the other one to me" and 'You were doing something that day'. Essentially, even she had another one of herself to give, not even then would she give herself away. As for the conductor-symphony line, I always took it as you (symphony) can't really be blamed for what you do given your circumstances (the conductor). So essentially this kinda goes with what JasonbelieveMe was saying. Yet the only thing I feel different about is the the last line(s), 'You were doing something else that day'. Even if as JasonBelieveMe said the speaker doesn't blame her, the line seems kinda tongue in cheek. I think there wouldn't be a song overall if her absence was not saddening and bothersome. Lastly, I effing love this song. |

This song is sooo good. Simple, but even still, soooo good. |

| Death Cab for Cutie – Little Fury Bugs Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I forgot to add that the last line makes it seem like she will return, because I believe most read it as "the hope that you'll never return, but you're always on time" So most think the narrator thinks the lover won't return, "but she's always on time", in another words, trustworthy and will return. Buuuuuut, I believe it should be read in that the lover will be on time in while to never return. ~ hector |

| Death Cab for Cutie – Little Fury Bugs Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I believe this song is describing how the narrator has gotten back to his friends but has seen that the time/distance/and his problems that were experienced in the previous songs (405, Lowell, MA, For What Reason) have set him and his friends apart and almost made them strangers : "you'll discover that casual friends kept notes in their pockets to remember your name. " Continuing with the narrator and his wanting of the return of his lover, I think it's in this song he realizes that she won't be coming back: "the hope that you'll never return in a while. but you're always on time" ~ hector |

| Brand New – The Archers Bows Have Broken Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Wow, awesoooome song. Can't wait for the new album. | |
| Red Hot Chili Peppers – Dani California Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Let's face it, it's catchy as hell. Red Hot Chili Peppers could write songs like this forever. It's not an "incredible" song or anything, but okay on RHCP standards. At least it's better than most crap out there at the moment. |

| Criteria – Me on Your Front Porch Lyrics | 20 years ago |
|
Probably my favourite song by the band, I guess it could trade off with It Happens for the top spot. Umm, from what I get from the song is that it's about a guy and girl who recently broke up, yet they find they still kinda need each other, so the guy goes back to the girl at the end with his 'face pressed against the screen'? |

| The Fall of Troy – Ghostship Pt V Lyrics | 20 years ago |

I love this song. It's really the song that got me into Fall of Troy. Anywus, umm, well, you guys know the whole story about the crew and stuff. I don't know, I guess we can just wait till the Ghostship LP with the 3 or 4 other tracks to really get the whole story. |

| System of a Down – B.Y.O.B. Lyrics | 20 years ago |

You know, since when have the \"Rich\" fought in the wars? Jesus christ, since the beginning, its always been the poor who have fought. Sure, there has been some exceptions, but most of the wars fought have been by the poor. And still, the poor send their children to the military to get a least somewhat of a better life, the same thing happened way back with the Janissaries. So why is it all of a sudden a big deal? Personally, America is wrong to be spending thier time sending the troops in there and trying to get the job done. Just get some B52s and blow it all up. We are wasting our time trying to fix it without hurting the \"innocent\". It\'s war, innocent die. Just bomb the whole place, send the troops in. As history proves with Japan and Germany, the were blown to bits and screwed over, yet they came back with a succesful democratic system. By bombing, i don\'t mean Nukes though. |

rtil - "I don't know why don't they?" Good point, i mean Presidents have been fighting the wars ever since the mongols.. Why can't our presidents be more like Chenggis Khan out there in the battlefield riding horses and throwing spears? Honestly, can you imagine George Bush out there fighting? The thing is this is a new age, and we haven't had presidents fighting the wars since the before the middle ages...well 200 odd years ago if you count Pres. George Washington ....even though he wasnt president at the time.. :/ Really the whole question or idea that system is trying to bring through the song is about as thought provoking as asking why pigs don't fly.. |

The United States has a draft?!?!? WOW, i thought they said they weren't gonna do that anymore. God Damn you US government! You cant just draft people, especially the poor, and send them to war. What ever happened to letting people have the choice of signing up for the military huh? Cause after all, if you'd sign up for the military, then you'd be willing to fight for your country right? I mean thats what you're agreeing to when you sign it. Surely people wouldnt just sign up for the army/navy/marines/ etc..just for its economic and educational benfits? I mean, if they didn't, then why would they complain about going out to war? They signed up for it didnt they? See, if they dont want to go fight, then they dont sign up! But no, the US is forcing people to war who haven't even signed up for it. Stupid US government. That's why i support System of A Down going against the very government that allows them to do what they do! eh.....[/sarcasm] Awesome song....well the music is awesome.... I've never really agreed with what soad has to say but their music just sounds so damn cool! |

| Weezer – Everybody Wants a Chance to Feel All Alone Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
good explanation, i love this song, itunes says i just listened to it today 21 one times...right now i'm obsessed, plus i'm trying to finish tabbing it out for guitar. I think this part, "looking up towards the stars, i can see for very far", is showing a sign of relief going back to "i feel so strong", it shows that he now is free. He can see so very far where he can be and not be tied down by this relationship. Great song, top 5 on my list. |

| Weezer – I Don't Want Your Lovin' Lyrics | 21 years ago |

you know, one thing i like about Rivers is how his lyrics are so simple yet still they say so much..i think most can relate to this song...'specially with the beginning..."You are cool You are hot And you know What you've got You can have Anyone When you call They will come" |

| Weezer – Cryin' and Lonely Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
pretty straight foward, great song, just finished listening to it, i guess its like "well bitch you've screwed me over so many times, so don't expect me to be there when "you're crying and lonely tonight" actually...hmm...it seems that Rivers is talking about how he's felt so bad when they have broken out before but this time he's finally learned... |

| Weezer – Only in Dreams Lyrics | 21 years ago |
|
Simply My Favorite Song By Weezer. this song relates so much with my life. Theres this girl that i absolutley adore. She's perfect. Or perfect for me. We were really great friends. Then we never would see each other around anymore. We lost touch. I never got to tell her how i felt. And to this day i still have dreams about her. Whenever this song comes on, i like enter another world. I simply go back on all the memories and think how perfect she is. And how perfect her and i would be together. It's even greater when i'm playing my guitar along with it. I love all 7 minutes and 59 seconds of the song. I love everything about it . The lyrics, the unforgettable bass, the build up on guitar, the vocals, the drums, everything. Words can't really truly express how much i love this song and what it means to me. I guess i can leave it at that. |
