Me on Your Front Porch Lyrics

i know you've no concern
and neither do i
so let's find out where it leads us
tonight

don't need a reason
no need to ask why
two ships in the night
with distress signals
hoist me up high
here is the deal
don't hold it against me
just pretend i never asked you before

i must move on
where will i go from here
caught up and wrong
the right will soon appear
darling you know this man will go to sleep
don't need a reason
no cause for alarm
pretend you can live with it
believe it's a ...

we are identical
we both want the same thing
but we can't explain it to each other
there is no love for the other

i'm not sure where you want me to be
i'm here on your front porch
face pressed to your screen
and in a matter of time
you'll see this quite clearly
that me on your front porch
it's a new beginning

Probably my favourite song by the band, I guess it could trade off with It Happens for the top spot.

Umm, from what I get from the song is that it's about a guy and girl who recently broke up, yet they find they still kinda need each other, so the guy goes back to the girl at the end with his 'face pressed against the screen'?

this is just an amazing song - i agree with dougiecrystals - both want to be with each other - 'we are identical we both want the same thing' - but it just won't work. in the end though i think it seems like there's hope - 'you'll see this quite clearly' and 'it's a new beginning'.

i think it's: "two ships in the night with distress signals hoisted up high"

and i know it's: "pretend you can live with it and leave it to wont"

i have no idea why but this song reminds me of high fidelity, an awesome movie based on an even better book. (although i'm guessing most SM users probably have seen/read it at least once)

anyways, really good song by an over-looked band in need of more attention!

i used to think it was "faceless to your screams" i actually liked it better that way
