I been feelin low
Cause I been stuck inside my head
Please don't let me go feel like i'm Left out here for dead
See I been cryin all alone
Got no more tears left to shed
Mama told me just be strong
Get a grip and hold your head
Just hold yo head up gon be aight(Gone be aight)
Just hold yo head up we gon be aight (Gone be aight)
Just hold yo head up gon be aight(Gone be aight)
Just hold yo head up
Just hold yo head up
Get in my bag and I write the songs
That's the shit that I be on
I ain't trynna text nobody
I just wanna be alone
And I can't really trust nobody
I don't know what they be on
That shit disturbin my soul
So I gotta keep it close
Let it blow (bahhh)
Cause if they try me in this bitch
Then it's gon be a fuckin problem
I been this way since just a kid
Lotta shit i'm dealin wit
And mama used to leave me in the crib all alone
And I never knew my pops
Cause my pops was never home
That nigga gone
And now I sit up in the crib
Thinkin too myself like damn
Like if I seen you on the street
Would you know who the fuck I am
It's aight tho, It don't matter
Gotta focus, on this cheddar
On my grind I- never settle
I'm just hopin I get better
I been feelin low
Cause I been stuck inside my head
Please don't let me go feel like i'm Left out here for dead
See I been cryin all alone
Got no more tears left to shed
Mama told me just be strong
Get a grip and hold your head
Just hold your head up we gon be aight
Just hold your head up we gon be aight (Be aight)
Just hold yo head up we gon be aight (Gon be aight yeah)
Just hold yo head up we gon be aight (Gon be aight uhhh)
Just hold your head up
(Gone be aight yeahhh)
Just hold yo
Just hold yo head up gon be aight
Just hold yo
Gon be aight

Can't believe noone commented on this one yet! One of my favourite feelgood songs I think it's like 'Hey, heads up I like you, you have influence over my feelings' Just one viewpoint :)

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
