Taking Back Sunday – Sink Into Me Lyrics 15 years ago
I love TBS, so don't get me wrong but this song lyrically sounds gay. I like the tune and the music but 'sink into me' is just a gay phrase. Maybe I'm just a homophob.

What would be the odds of the original TBS coming back together to produce one more album? Are the bridges completely burned down?

Taking Back Sunday – Where My Mouth Is Lyrics 15 years ago
I actually think that this album reminds me a little bit of TAYF throughout. It's the small things, such as this simple idea of repeating the phrase, "I put my money where my mouth is, and I put my money where my mouth was," this little signature is found all over New Again which I felt was absent on LN. LN took a while to grow on me, but I liked (not loved) this album from the first time I put it in. So props for TBS for getting back to their roots a little bit!

That being said, I knew about the cocaine struggle but I didn't really put that idea with this song right away. "until I couldn't breathe through my nose" sort of makes me think that he got punched in the nose, causing it to break or something and fill with blood, which would surely stop breathing. TBS was his 'second life' away from his day to day living. When this whole fight with John happened, he lost John, John's sister, Shawn... a mean a lot of people so I'm not sure who the 'two friends' are, if you ask me, it might be John and John's sister. I don't know. I do think there is an undeniable presence of drug abuse description in the song. "I recall quite perfectly who I was both before and after the drugs" - although he knew who he was, it sounds like he is saying he changed, and he was two different people because of how much it affected his life. That's all. I love the new album though!! Better than LN anyway.

Trapt – Black Rose Lyrics 15 years ago
This song is one of the greatest songs that not many people will ever hear, unless you bought the album. It's unfortunate, because this song is amazing. It's pretty self explanatory. I love the imagery they use. I think that a majority of people feel like this about someone at some point in their lives. I know I have. It's hard to let go and watch someone throw their life away but it's better than having them take you down with them, as harsh as that is to say. If you're standing on a stool, it's much easier for someone to pull you down than for you to pull them up. I love this song. I could listen to it every day.

The Used – Blue And Yellow Lyrics 15 years ago
The coolest part imo is the very first line. The title of the song is Blue and Yellow. The first line is, "it's all in how you mix the two". You know what happens when you mix blue and yellow? You get Green. But if you mix them in bad proportions you get a shitty color. Now that's tight. Fucking love this band.

Good song. She wrote this from a David Alan Coe Song who has the repeating lines of "Jack Daniels if you please, knock me to my knees"

Alter Bridge – Watch Over You Lyrics 16 years ago
Wow. This new CD took a couple listens before it grew on me. I'm in love with about every song. This one is my favorite by far. Musicall and lyrically it is moving. To me the principle is "You don't know what you have 'till it's gone". I feel like I can relate to this song because I have the personality to always give. The thing people don't know about a lot of givers is that we although we don't say it, we want to be given things too. This sounds like someone just ran out of give. He was all this person had, and they have taken advantage of them for way too long.

There comes a point where you have to stand up and do things for yourself. If someone doesn't appreciate the love you give, there is someone else that will.

Breaking Benjamin – Shallow Bay Lyrics 17 years ago
For anyone who knows Breaking Benjamin even relatively well knows that they write most of their songs (I think Ben makes the exception of one or two) when they are drunk and the band claims that most of their songs have no real significant meaning. This is one of my fav. Breaking Benjmin songs but there is no way to tell what it means. I just saw them last week in concert and...it was fuckin amazing.

Three Days Grace – Let You Down Lyrics 17 years ago
Apparently this song is a lot more confusing to most people than it is to me. It's simple. A lot girls are incredibly manipulating and always want shit to go their way, they want you to be there when they are going through shit, but when it comes to you they don't seem to come around most of the time. Someone was confused about the verse and the chorus saying two differnt things. Well it's because the verse is being sarcastic or lying, leading you on, if you will. The Chorus is what it's like after you finally give up your trust to that person, they just leave. Girls are unbelievable...I really don't think a lot of them realize how big of ignorant bitches they really are, and the ones that do use it to their advantage and play nothing but games.

Three Days Grace – Never Too Late Lyrics 17 years ago
I just saw 3DG last night and Adam explained it. It's about feeling like you don't belong somewhere, or feeling like you're not good enough. The entire one-x cd has a sense of lonliness and distance. The main body of this song follows suite, however in the end he reveals that we aren't alone in the fight after all. So many people are just like us who feel like that. There is hope. Hope is the theme of this song after the final verse.

Skillet – Open Wounds Lyrics 17 years ago
Well, I am a relatively new Skillet fan, I didn't even know they were a Christian band until recently, but I had never really listened to their music either.

Judging from the new Comatose CD, this song is almost certianly about his relationship with his father. Skillet doesn't write every one of his songs about Jesus or God, this song shows it perfectly.

Also, this is a music board so I don't want to start a debate, but I find it amazing how many people just hate on Christians. Why would you come on here and say that horrible thing you said? I guess it's just the trials we have to go through but it amazes me. True Christians would never do that to your beliefs but yet you have to come on here and just hate. That made me sick reading that 1st comment by that guy.

Also---this whole CD seems to be a cry of desperation, calling out to Christ. I like how he keeps the theme going for the most part of the CD.

Red – Let Go Lyrics 17 years ago
This song is talking about Satan. Christians are constantly targeted by the devil with temptation. I believe he is going through a phase where the devil is just after him hardcore and throwing things at him that are hurting or ruining his life. He's affraid but he doesn't want to be. "Let Go" is a cry for Christ to finally relieve him of his spiritual battle with satan, he wants to finally be free of these trials he's going through so he is begging God.

Many Christians go through this phase. Especially when you are a new or struggling Christian, satan targets the weak, trying to stop the progression of the faith before it is solid. If you persevere through this part of your relationship with Christ, your foundation is stronger than it probably ever will be.

Red – Breathe Into Me Lyrics 17 years ago
Spriggan....He's not talking about suicide at all. He's talking about just breaking down. This entire song is talking about how he is so far away from God. At this point in the song that you are talking about he finally runs out of places to run, because Christ is the only cure. He realizes this once he 'hits the ground', he is as low as he can possibly get. I personally am a Christian and a lot of people go through this stage of life. Sometimes you have to get to the bottom to realize just how great God is.

Alter Bridge – Metalingus Lyrics 17 years ago
I don't see how this song isn't about becoming a Christian. This entire CD is loaded with Christian conotations. I know you can apply songs however you personally seem fit, but I try to look at and figure out what it meant to the band when they wrote it (ie..articles on interviews, blogs, sleeves). Judging by the other songs on the CD and the band(s) history, I think it's about seeing the light and becoming a Christian.

Chevelle – Antisaint Lyrics 17 years ago
The hook to this song is very catchy. This entire CD is filled with guitar riffs that are just amazing. I like the new sound they bring, a little bit harder. Musically, Vena Sera is almost perfect with hard base lines and crisp drums to go along with the guitar. Lyrically I find this CD very confusing and difficult to comprehend. I am usually a guy that likes to understand the lyrics but I just don't care on this CD, the music just rocks!

Skillet – The Older I Get Lyrics 17 years ago
What does this mean then...

"I was sitting there waiting in my room for you, you were waiting for me too."

I guess it could mean that they were both stubborn and waiting for each other to appologize first. I loved this song before I found out it was about his relationship with his dad, and I love it even more now. I love it because it can be plugged into so many situations in relationships. You never think long term about small decisions you make, but sometimes being a man (or at least the better person) can not only save the pain from happening, but can make the other person better too. It just takes honesty and a little bit of a compromise of pride.

Breaking Benjamin – Dance With The Devil Lyrics 17 years ago
The person is obviously not wanting to dance with this devil, he's trying to resist tempation. "Don't you dare look at him in the eye". He wants to do what's right but he might be tired of fighting it so he decides to say goodbye and dance with this proverbial devil.

Breaking Benjamin – Had Enough Lyrics 17 years ago
Yeah, it has to be about Jeremy Hummel, who was the former drummer of the band. He sued BB for something like $8 million after saying they didn't pay him for songs he helped write. This is my personal favorite song on the album. It's such a powerful song, especially when he says "greedy little bastard, you will get what you deserve." I just went to a BB concert in Des Moines Sunday night and they were fucking amazing. They didn't play this song unfortunately. Awesome performers.

Nickelback – Savin' Me Lyrics 18 years ago
I don't believe this song is about suicide or love, really. He is just feels like the world is coming down on him (I'm terrified of these four walls) the person knows that there's more to life than this..(These iron bars can't hold my soul) there's a better way. (these city walls ain't got no love for me)..this is saying that he has stuggled with stuff...drugs, alcohol, someting illegal, but none of these things have shown him love...just put him in this proverbial prison. He's calling out to God, not to a girl. When he says "I'm on the ledge of the 18th story" I don't think he means he is actually on the verge or suicide..I think he is just saying that this world has pushed him too far...he's somewhere that he doesn't want to be. He wants to be told how to live (teach me wrong from right) and he will follow through (and i'll show you what I can be). He just needs to know that God is going to save him and he wants someone, anyone to tell him that (say it for me, say it to me, say it if it's what's save'n me). That's all he needs to know to leave this life he is living behind him. This song is definitley written from a religious perspective. Great song. I love Nickelback's variety.

Taking Back Sunday – Miami Lyrics 18 years ago
A lot of songs can be interpreted as being about God, that's why. Does that mean that's what the writer had in mind when he composed the song? No. But there are alternative ways to apply songs and people look at songs differently. TBS is poetic in nature and God is something that poets tend to write about in songs, so although I don't think this song is about God there songs they have written that could be interpreted that way. What's your problem with God? God made you.

Taking Back Sunday – Divine Intervention Lyrics 18 years ago
"Five in the morning and out comes out pouring love Out the same way in."

This could be seen as a repentence to Christ. It seems like he's been struggling with something all night long and he's finally given up and realized that he needs to turn over his life to God. He just breaks down "out comes out pouring love" and then Christ gives him love the same way "out the same way in"....that's just one way to view it though...

Taking Back Sunday – Divine Intervention Lyrics 18 years ago
Well the title has to be referring to God in someway or another but I can't make a connection with the lyrics yet. "Divine Intervention" is something that's often heard/said in Christianity.

On another note...their lyrics are still as good as they have ever been. I feel like a lot of people are trash'n this CD and to be honest I had to listen to it a couple of times...but I realize now how good of a CD it is. Let's not kid ourselves and act like it's as good as "tell all your friends" but...will there ever be a CD as good as that one?

Taking Back Sunday – Miami Lyrics 18 years ago
I think this song is definitely a struggle with trusting himself. There is some stuff from his past he wants to tell her but he is affraid that if he does she will just use it against him to get some kind of leverage (or torture as he says). He wants to be able to not find fear in commitment like someone he knows but he just always wonders if she really is the right one, how would he ever know? "truth be told, i'm never gonna know". He doesn't trust himself because he knows that history repeats itself and he's liable to mess up this relationship.
