Your words of love for me were fraudulent! The only love you have is for your drug of choice, not for me, not even for yourself! This is my justification for why I left you! I deal with the pain and remorse for that decision every day, but have to leave the guilt to you. I'm sorry, but I have to leave some of that to you. If I could take all of the guilt on your behalf, I would, but there's no room for more. And you'll never get credit for loving me. You never did because you don't know how.

i think this song is about a guy trying to take care of an unstable girl. he cant stay with her because he cant bare to see her destroy herself. he's tried to help, to save her, but she's still a mess and he cant deal with the fact that no matter what he does, how much he loves her its not enough, he cant save her, because the only person you can ever save is yourself.

This song is wonderful one, can make any grown man cry.

Actually this song is about someone in a relationship with someone who's battling a drug addiction, and coming to the conclusion that they can't take it anymore, so they walk away, asking the question who's going to take care of you when I'm gone.

how can u tell that u care for anyone despite of all the damages u suffer to yourself. u can't love anybody unless you love yourself firstly.

I love this song! A few years ago, my best friend was around some very nasty people and she became depressed, angry and very hateful. I tried my hardest to stand by her side but after awhile I felt like I was suffocating. I had to walk away.

That’s what this song is about. Loving someone, but having to leave him or her because it hurts you too much to stay.

For me, this song is about someone who has always tried to look after a person they love, "I tried to carry you, And make you whole" but despite all of it he feels that he is neglected, "You say you care for me, But hide it well"

I feel that the reason he is leaving is because he cant take the situation any longer and must leave to save himself, "It's more than I can take"

In the chorus i think he is asking rhetorical questions in a way which says "no one else will do/be there for you as much as i was"

Wow. This new CD took a couple listens before it grew on me. I'm in love with about every song. This one is my favorite by far. Musicall and lyrically it is moving. To me the principle is "You don't know what you have 'till it's gone". I feel like I can relate to this song because I have the personality to always give. The thing people don't know about a lot of givers is that we although we don't say it, we want to be given things too. This sounds like someone just ran out of give. He was all this person had, and they have taken advantage of them for way too long.

There comes a point where you have to stand up and do things for yourself. If someone doesn't appreciate the love you give, there is someone else that will.
