(GCSE Poetry) level of explanation (also is an opinion) First we need to know what the themes of the song: Motivation, Emotion, Human, hope.

[should consider] 1st: quote "take it from me" does it sound like the narrator was the mother or important of the person she talk about? 2nd:the used of 'direct address(can be something else but i can't remember :P)' "you" suggests that the narrator try to give us the message, me, you and everyone who listen to this song. 3rd: combine both 2 point we get the summary of we're her child and she about to teach us how/why/ to 'not give up.

First the beginning of the song usually hid a lot meaning, because song just like a poetry "You're alone, you're on your own, so what?" already we can see the 'motivation' attempts. this is going to be very long and boring if i'm doing full analysis so i'll to good point.
"Have you gone blind?,Have you forgotten what you have and what is yours?" the used of rhetorical question suggest that narrator asking a question about what you own, from what we get so far make the narrator more likely to ask "you have you life, have you give it up already?" but is such a great quote that is can meaning so many way such as consciousness of being yourself, if you lose it you become someone else. is up to you what meaning you want it to be but i bet is should be close to mine. "Glass half empty, glass half full Well either way you won't be going thirsty" half empty, half full? yes! is the same but that is not the point, the point is both still stop you from thirsty, is don't have to be full just at long at i not empty. just like hope, at along as you have hope you will not give up. also another great quote, can meant so many thing such as happiness etc. "Count your blessings not your flaws" told us to look at the bright side and being happy. You've got it all You lost your mind in the sound There's so much more You can reclaim your crown You're in control Rid of the monsters inside your head Put all your faults to bed You can be king again [i'm lazy now] she mean we have the power to do anything but sometime we don't do thing right and is could be worst but we have to learn to forgive yourself and learn from mistake (evidence "put all your fault to bed") but you can redeem yourself because you in control of your own life and any problem you face. You can be king again suggest you will become strong again, because King rule everything, old believe that king are the representative of God himself. the word 'again' told us that he is king before. just like us we take control of our life just like a king but then sometime we lose that feeling.

as a human we always have something to learn or we always doing something mistake, that is what pulling us back and sometime we find is hard to move on but the narrator told us learn to be more positive etc.

i'm prefect sure in first line but: Narrator said that is might be crazy too do what she said and is true, not every problem can be look at positive side, imagine you have a company but is goes bank corrupt and you said to yourself, this is fine i'll start again. yes only mad man or real life fighter would thing that way but then we move to the next line, a counter point. she said that sadness is not complicate and you don't receive any benefit for having it.

sorry for being lazy but summary: song is about motivation, sometime life is not what you expected but you have the power to overcome it but just not giving up. you yourself are the king of your life and the monster are just many problem that you have to defeat. something that has been done is can't be undone but you can learn from it and make a better way later on.
