I'm not sure it's that patriotic. Basically, as I see it, the song mocks America while it acknowledges that Byrne himself also a part of and a product of American culture. The song doesn't condemn or condone the US, so much as it provides a critique of our country and how much DB is a part of it. Also, the music video is hilarious (love DB in the Adidas sweatsuit)
