Could he be anymore blunt about human nature? It's exactly what everyone longs for but the thing that most are afraid to admit. Through his blunt approach he gets his message across nicely.
Well Rufus didn't actually write this song, but I agree with you. I like that it wasn't simply written for "shock value". Just actual thoughts put down on paper.

Why should an artist always write a song from their own personal perspective? That's like saying that it would be strange for a gay author to write a book in the persona of a straight character. Take another Rufus song for example, "The Art Teacher" - I highly doubt Rufus was ever 'just a girl in uniform'.

this is the cutest song. and rufus sings it so well. i wish he'd written it. the best part has gotta be "if drinkin' coffee's your idea of really cool ya can't expect no crazy chick ta notice you". makes me smile every time.
Haha. I agree with ChrissyTina. It's so much fun to just listen to the music, and bob your head along-- but then you listen to the lyrics.. and you laugh, because it is so very blatantly all about getting laid.
wow i was dumbfounded the first time i heard this song.. but now it has become one of my favorites.. this song, like the sex it sings of, is soooo addicting.. :-)
