Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow, waves of joy are drifting through my opened mind
Possessing and caressing me

Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world

Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes
That call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box
They stumble blindly as they make their way across the universe

Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world

Sounds of laughter, shades of earth, are ringing through my open mind
Inciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a million suns
And calls me on and on across the universe

Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world

I think Rufus did it better than The Beatles. As much as I listen to the beatles (for amusement mostly), I think Rufus did a better job. This song is awesome.

Yup. Definately a cover. But hey, this is my all time favorite Beatles song, so I pay respect to whomever can cover it-and do it well. Which he has done quite well indeed. ;)

this is the GREATEST cover of "across the universe" i have ever heard... YEAH that's right all you fiona apple fans who think her version is great... welll CHECK THIS OUT. it's soo good. yum. i heard it on the John Lennon special when rufus (which is a horrible human name... should be a dog name) played it w/ sean lennon... and WOW. then rufus (woof woof) released it on his own and... it's FABOO!

i'm laughing at pomegranatesROCK's comment about rufus' name. that's what i'm naming my karin terrier when i get him. ha. but anyway, this is an AMAZING cover. just as good as the beatles version. i love the emotion rufus puts into each and every word..he really paints a picture with his voice.

This is an awesome song, it was on the 'I Am Sam' soundtrack, and if anyone hasn't bought it yet, BUY IT, if you're a Beatles fan. The whole album is Beatles covers, and I have to say that this is one of my favorites on the album! :)

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Sunglasses at Night
Corey Hart
In the 1980s, sunglasses were a common fashion for people who wanted to adopt a "tough guy" persona (note all the cop shows from that era -- Simon & Simon, Miami Vice, etc. -- where the lead characters wore shades). So I think this song is about a guy who wears shades as a way of hiding his insecurity after learning that his girlfriend is cheating on him. He's trying to pretend that he's a "tough guy" to hide the fact that his girlfriend's affair is disturbing him.

Of Mice & Men
This track is about is about questioning why the sky would choose to be blue if it had the choice to be anything else, “blue also meaning sad,” states frontman Aaron Pauley. “It's about comforting a loved one in a time of loss by telling them you feel blue, too.”
