I don't think that this is about a "nothing special" relationship at all. it's about a person who's constantly surprising, the singer has to keep reading and watching a listening to find out more. Or/maybe and, the person is so special that they're in everything that the singer does.

this band is beautiful. one of their best songs.
I know a guy who uses this song to successfully woo time and again. great song.
To me, it sounds like the protagonist is in a relationship that isn't any different than any other. The same thing happens again and again ("on and on and on"), and nothing special happens.
It's just the way I think of it. Nice song, by the way.
am I the only one who thinks this song sounds a bit like "release me" by Oh Laura ? whoever wrote that release me-song can kiss my ass. it can´t be a coincidence.
