Say no way
We won't let them grow up that way
Things have changed
but some things have stayed the same
Hold on what you want to
but some things are passed down anyway
Hold on to what I want to
I don't think I know what I just

Leave me without a god without belief with out a cause
Without a path that I should take
Without a choice that a should make
Such an easy thought and now I had it but I lost it
I guess I need your help and now I
Guess I need your help and now I

Say no way
Don't let things go on this way
A clean slate
but it don't work that way
Hold on to what you want to
but some things are passed down anyway
Hold on to what I want to
I will have to own what I have

Leave me without a god without belief with out a cause
Without a path that I should take
Without a choice that a should make
Such an easy thought and now I had it but I lost it
I guess I need your help and now I
Guess I need your help and now I

It's not my stuff it's just too much
It's just my stuff it's just my

Leave me without a god without belief with out a cause
Without a path that I should take
Without a choice that a should make
Such an easy thought and now I had it but I lost it
I guess I need your help and now I
Guess I need your help and now I

I love the chorus to this and how she sings "I guess I need your help and now I..."

call the doctor is one of their best albums, hands down. raw as anything.

LOVE this song seems to be about how raising kids today in the world were so much discrimination hate and traditions are passed down

I think if anything that this song is like for her mom and telling her that she is gay. It's her stuff and her problem and she should deal with it on her own. And the whole thing about God is about how Carrie is Jewish and it must have been harder for her parents to be okay with her lifestyle. And I also think the whole idea that religion implies about being gay must be hard and that's why she says I guess I need your help now like as though she is not even sure if what she is doing or if even who she is, is the right person. So far I have only listened to their first three albums and I am trying to get along to listen to the others. But they are amazing. I have been listening to them straight almost religously for a month now.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
