This song pretty much explains the story of me and my ex. We were once together, and had lots of good times, but we were in a long distance relationship. Life changes and other things that happened just meant that we could not stay together anymore and even tho we still loved each other, we mutually agreed to split up. We have always stayed good friends, and we hoped for a long time that something would one day happen so we could carry on where we left off... but of course life just isnt always that simple and i never found a way to get back together even tho we both remained single for over a year afterwards... Then the inevitable happened, my ex found a new boyfiend, and has begun to move on. You just cant wait for someone forever. I have kinda found someone too, but deep down im not happy. I wish now, that id have played things differently instead of letting my true love pass me by, and I regret it every SINGLE day. Guys... if you find someone special, go get them, do whatever it takes to keep them, don't be a fool like I was, cos it will end up haunting you for a very long time... to my ex.. This song is exactly how I feel!!!! This one hits hard!! "This ever changing world pushes me through another door". Sometimes I just don't get it!!!!! "love that is real but in disguise" It can't hit more than that one!!!!!! I finally found the song I have been looking for!!!!! "JEN" you know how I feel and miss you everyday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think this is one of those songs that has more substance to it than you realize at first. I'd heard as background noise on the radio for years before really listening to it, and I agree that "haunting" is a good way to describe it. The lyrics are so simple and concise, yet create such a vivid mood of yearning that it's almost painful to listen to, and his vocals are pitch perfect- pure and un-showy.

I think RM is one of the most underrated musicians of our time, and this is one of his best. The has an almost haunting quality to it, especially near the end.

i agree with you on both accounts: a) RM is underrated, and b) the haunting quality of this song. i love it, absolutely love it! it truly seems like two people who care deeply for each other and for whatever reason (both married as suggested) they can't have more, can't have it all... sad, but beautiful all the same.

i think this song just puts into perspective how people fool themselves into thinking the chemistry they feel with a new person is love but, it's just lust. the forbidden fruit tastes sweeter rings so true in this song. not that the lust may not develop into love but, you will more often than not, be in this same situation again when you're bored with your new spouse. most people who fall into this kind of relationship are never satisfied for too long. of course, there is the one in million exception to the rule. Love the song. Stay faithful :)
