| Elton John – The One Lyrics | 15 years ago |

This is one of my favourite EJ songs ever! It's intensity never dies with me. If anyone wants to see a TERRIFIC live performance of this, then look up "Elton john, The one, live in pontevedra 1999" on youtube or google video. It's just him and the piano and one of the best versions of this song i've ever seen him do. p.s. All credit to Bernie Taupin for the beautiful lyrics here! he has to be one of the best lyricists ever |

| Justin Bieber – Down to Earth Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Yehh, this is the most meaningful song on the album, it's also Justin's favourite song too. Im glad this one is his favourite cos it shows his deeper side and helps everyone else understand him more too. Its pretty obvious that his past has helped turn him into the strong brave person he is today. As hard as divorce is, you have two options, you can cry and cry and cry, and give up, or do the crying, pick yourself up and battle through it. I'm glad Justin did the latter! with all that behind him, its no wonder he no longer fears easily. I think this kid is going to be a mega-star like MJ was. |

| Justin Bieber – Where Are You Now Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
This song tugs at my heart strings and gives me mega goosebumps. I can relate to it so much in every single line. Like Justin, my father is also no longer around... and there are so many times I wish he was. Ive always wanted to be able to write a song to sum up how I feel deep down, but Justin has done it effortlessly and simply. I cannot get over how talented this lil guy is. not having a father does things to you deep down, it changes you.. makes you strive to be strong for your mother, dear to your families, it makes you protective, sometimes moody and emotional in private. It gives us a need to be the best we can be at everything in life, to kinda prove we can take care of ourselves without having our father around, even tho at the back of our minds there is always that something missing. I see this in justin too, he strives to protect his mum, to be the best he can be, never give up. His cocky confident persona is a blanket over the wounds that lie underneath. In a way, perhaps Justin even has his father to thank for making him the determined person he is today! even still, I wish I could meet this lil dude and give him a huge hug. I think this is the underlying reason for everything he has achieved, and definately a big part of what makes him tick. |

| Taylor Swift – Invisible Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Both songs were prob written about Zac Efron lol. They seem to hang around together enough lately. Lovely song tho! made my emotional when i listened to it... Her lyrics really describe that darker consequence of letting yourself love someone. |

| Pink – I Don't Believe You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Awwh I love this one! its deffo my new favourite sad song at the moment... Tell me though... does anyone else think this song reminds them of the song "Eternity" by Robbie Williams?? P!NK sings the song soo emotionally, and I agree it dusnt even sound like her to begin with. She is a pro at singing blue and soulful songs! remember "dear Mr President" all she has is two backing singers and a guitarist and she still sounds amazing. I hope pink brings out an acoustic album, cos i'd definately buy it :o) |

| Richard Marx – Hold On To The Nights Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
This song pretty much explains the story of me and my ex. We were once together, and had lots of good times, but we were in a long distance relationship. Life changes and other things that happened just meant that we could not stay together anymore and even tho we still loved each other, we mutually agreed to split up. We have always stayed good friends, and we hoped for a long time that something would one day happen so we could carry on where we left off... but of course life just isnt always that simple and i never found a way to get back together even tho we both remained single for over a year afterwards... Then the inevitable happened, my ex found a new boyfiend, and has begun to move on. You just cant wait for someone forever. I have kinda found someone too, but deep down im not happy. I wish now, that id have played things differently instead of letting my true love pass me by, and I regret it every SINGLE day. Guys... if you find someone special, go get them, do whatever it takes to keep them, don't be a fool like I was, cos it will end up haunting you for a very long time... to my ex.. Hold on to the nights Hold on to the memories I wish I could give you more That I could be yours xx your solemate, Always! |

| Paul McCartney – Dance Tonight Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Why don't all you guys try looking at it from a musicians point of view! Your all sat there slagging the song off for being too simple, when the whole point of this song IS to be simple! Its a plain straight forward easy to remember little tune with a catchy foot-tappy beat. Its not MEANT to be complicated. Its not like Paul has to prove himself! in this song its just Paul doing what he does best, picking up an instrument (in this case the mandolin) and giving it a good old strum. The song has no point, and not much of a story really, because it does not need it. Its an old fashioned sing-song type of tune as opposed to a complicated synthesised, mixed thing with loads of lyrics and parts to it. One for the family, one for the the kids, a song that almost anyone can listen to and enjoy. Art does not always have to be complex to be good. |

| Céline Dion – A New Day Has Come Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The songs itself, was about her child, however in the song video, we dont all wanna just stare at a baby do we! so the video gives the song more than just one meaning and one perception. A song is seen differently to everyone, and the video is designed to cover those, and to reach a wider audience. To not have done that would have been stupid. | |
| Phil Collins – Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| There has never been, and probably never WILL be, another artist who will even come close to being anything like the unique, diverse and oh so talented star that Phil Collins is. The man is a musical AND lyrical genious, and this song came right from the centre of that awesome gift he has been given. | |
| Randy Vanwarmer – Just When I Needed You Most Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is a very nice song! They play it on the Dawn Patrol on BBC Radio 2 sometimes, thats where I 1st heard it, and it kinda grew on me. This song has a perfect melody with some great harmonies, which makes it pretty soothing to listen to despite being a sad song. A lot of people can relate to the lyrics too, as almost everyone has these "blue" times when they really miss someone. The only bit i dont like about the song, is the horrid plinky-plonky middle part! Its an awful sound and kinda spoils the song a bit for me. |

| Phil Collins – Everyday Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This song is one of my all-time favourites from Phil Collins! but until recently i never knew it was him who sang it! back in 1995 this song was being played ALL over the tv and radio at least once every couple of hours for a time.... so WHY has it been TOTALLY forgotten? Ive not heard it played for almost a decade, and it was only because I stumbled across it by accident that I heard it again! I never forgot this song, it was in my head for years after i heard it, and its so tender and smooth. It reminds me of the good old days when I used to listen to this song on my first ghetto blaster when i was fiddling around with the radio frequencies and seeing what i could pick up instead of doing my school homework! hehe |

| Sandi Thom – What If I'm Right? Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I agree with Rosenholz, Not only is it sometimes annoying to have too much of a good thing, but most humans have this inner instinct to liven things up, and complicate things if they are all going too well. Maybe Sandi Thom is in a relationship which is running almost too smoothly for comfort, and she is testing her lover by pushing towards thier first major argument. Also... Has anyone else noticed that at the end, she goes doo doo doo to the the tune of "Here comes the bride"? |

| Sandi Thom – What If I'm Right? Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Love the song! its a real foot-tapper, and iv been playing it over and over again. I think its an interesting song, as while the lyrics are fairly pessemistic, the music is optimistic and full of excitement.... So perhaps this reflects both sides of the coin, having doubts yet still feeling really bouncy and excited. |

| KT Tunstall – Other Side Of The World Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
The song is brilliant! and once again SO original. What I love about the song is, it flows, and it flows SO nicely. There are almost two choruses linking into one another, and the song builds up from the "And the fire fades away" line to the "Your the other side of the world to me" line in a very clever way. It takes quite a bit of listening before you can sing along. Fantastic |

| KT Tunstall – Suddenly I See Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
The song is great! It is also incredibly original. What I love about this song is... its cheery and lighthearted, and not about some guy with a ring thru his nose rapping about how bad his life is, like most of the s##t in the charts these days. I love this song because it gets my foot tapping and has a really good rhythm. |

| Cat Stevens – Silent Sunlight Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I have always loved this song, and cannot BELIEVE no1 has mentioned anything about it yet! There are so many songs out there about LOVE this and LOVE that!, so its always great to hear songs about other things too. This one is about the working day, from waking up in the morning, thru the day, until the evening, and the realisation that tomorrow you have to do it all over again. Its a lovely well written and simple song great to sing along to, and even good as just a stand-alone poem. |

| Céline Dion – Let's Talk About Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This song is so beautiful to me. I heard it when i was 15 and feeling very low from being bullied in school, during the run up to my grades i.e. GCSE's I had no girlfriend like the other ppl all seemed to, and I was just low. This song just made me realise that love is everywhere. It may be on the surface, but its deep down too. And even if you cant get it, you can give it. For some reason the song motivated me (especially in art class) to do really well despite all the pressures upon me at the time. I got an A in art and an A in Design 6 B's and two C's :o) Thanks Celine! x |

| Céline Dion – To Love You More Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I first heard this song on holiday in Florida USA where it was number one... i LOVED IT!! it was playing everywhere, but then I went back to UK, and the song wasnt even heard of. It was 2 years later that the song FINALLY came onto a disk over in the UK. Its such a great song and has a lovely build up to it. Its pop yehh but i wouldnt call it Cheap. The song has real instruments in it all the way through and is very well composed. It was also played LIVE at almost every place Celine sang it. I regard Cheapish pop to be stuff like boybands, and rap/dance crud, something we have FAR to much of these days |

| Céline Dion – A New Day Has Come Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Ignoring the previous messages, I like Celine and respect her celebrity. She is a seemingly lovely lady who has always looked after the best interests of her fans, and has given loads of money to charities all over the world. She is always so happy, even more so with the birth of her little boy. Its the ultimate gift for Celine who never thought she would become a mommy after the terrible ordeal of having her husband René battle cancer. 'A New Day' is a sweet song, and i know it is sung from the heart. Bless Celine she deserves much more respect from people. |

| Hanson – Weird Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think the popularity of this song comes from the fact that we all need a bit of reassurance sometimes, that we aren't the only ones who have bad times, or who feel a bit wierd and out of place sometimes. It happens to all of us everywhere, wether you are an average mortal, or a celebrity singing on stage. Hanson obviously wrote this song during some strange times, and provide comfort to anyone listening by describing the emotional times that they go through.... that we all go through. GREAT SONG!!! |

| Hanson – This Time Around Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I love this song because it is so catchy and well executed. It is also very sincere. It makes me feel like giving everything a second shot, and to be more determined. This time around i WILL succed. In this song Hanson once again do something they are incredibly good at.... by suddenly building into an extremely rocky and loud chorus, from a relaxed verse. Once again a very tuneful and catchy song with spot on vocal harmonies. |

| Hanson – Crazy Beautiful Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
heh, the first time I heard this song was on some dodgy old stereo at work, and i seriously though it was a U2 track!! I could not believe it was Hanson. It just goes to show how many different things the incredible Taylor can do with his voice. The piano is great in this song too. |
|
| Hanson – Cried Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Whoa I like this song! Its a bit of a childlike fighting situation going on here, between Hanson and a girl, and the song is quite bitchy really. GREAT use of the organ tho, I love the way the Hanson brothers can come up with such full sounding and tuneful rhythms time and time again. |
