Softer Lyrics

She's perfect in her own way
Smoke rings rising to the winter grey
She's perfect in her own way
Shining, stepping off a silver train

Now I'm getting a sick taste in my mouth
From the medicine that I can't keep down

She's amazing in her own way
Always moving to a better place
She's amazing in her own way
Laughing, you won't get to her weaker traits

Now I'm getting a sick taste in my mouth
From the medicine that I can't keep down
You know time heals nothing by itself
I see that ever so clearly now

She looks a little bit different now
Maybe a little bit softer round her eyes
Just a little bit different now
Maybe a little bit softer round her eyes

The lights had just gone out at Rockerfeller Center
Take it slow and make it softer
Easy, likes it nice and steady
The lights had just gone out at Rockerfeller Center
Take it slow and make it softer
Easy, likes it nice and steady
The lights had just gone out at Rockerfeller Center
Take it slow and make it softer
Easy, likes it nice and steady
The lights had just gone out at Rockerfeller Center
Take it slow and make it softer
Easy, likes it nice and steady

Now I'm getting that sick taste in my mouth
From the medicine that I can't keep down
You know time heals nothing by itself
I see that ever so clearly now

The lights had just gone out at Rockerfeller Center
Take it slow and make it softer
Easy, likes it nice and steady

Well, I'm not exactly the brightest person on the block, but i always thought it meant that there was a girl that he liked as a friend, and when she kissed him, he couldn't get the sick taste out of his mouth, a kiss refrenced to "medicine". then again, I am probably wrong. That's the great thing with songs... they mean what you want them to.

one of J.E.W's best i think. i find it really creepy, especially when the twinkly piano comes in. its definately one of their darkest songs. i think its about a guy that sees his ex-girlfriend as the slut that she is, sleeping around, just moving on to one guy after another, and he wishes they could have been steadier. or something like that... this song really kicks.

This song is officially called 'softer' but I've heard a demo of it called 'she's perfect' and it's called 'she's perfect' on a number of downloading sites, like audiogalaxy.

anyways, i think this song is one of their best because it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up, especially when that creepy piano comes in. i advise you all to download/listen to it.

i've never heard the song, just read the lyrics. to me, it sounds like they went thru a really bad breakup, and he's getting the chance to see her again, after a long time away from eachother. maybe he could have been obsessed w/ her...the medicine he cant keep down, or he was depressed after they broke up. i dunno, just guessing. also it could seem like she is sick. "She looks just a little bit different now. Maybe a little bit softer around her eyes." -just my thoughts

by the way , what cd is this on?

'softer' is from a demo album JEW recorded just before clarity. it had lucky denver mint, your new aesthetic and for me this is heaven on it (all later to be on clarity) but contained two tracks that remain only released on this cd, which are softer and roller queen. roller queen is ok, but i advise EVERYONE to download softer. it's one of their best songs, i promise you.

I think it could be interpreted both ways... but yeah, this is one of my favorite JEW songs, it's just awesome.

good song, but so not true when stated "its one of their best songs, i promise you" songs by j.e.w that would kick this songs ass: good bye sky harbor luky denver mint a sunday believe in what you want just watch the fireworks for me this is heaven my sundown what i would say to you now no sensitivity if you dont, dont table for glasses

"softer" is good, but their other songs have so much more meaning and depth. there lyrics are something everyone can relate to, and they have great symbolic parts in their songs. even soundwise, all those songs are way better than "softer"

Maybe I'm just an idiot (which is very probable) but I'm not sure I know exactly what this song is about. I figure it must have some sort of deep meaning...
