This is a great song. Some of the lyrics allude to a poem by ee cummings called "should this fool die."
I had no idea what this song was about, but the lyrics "We are blessed, we endure," drove me here to find out. I've been listening to this song for years and now I can never listen to it the same again. So beautiful but so sad.
this is definately one of my favorite songs of all time, the five-beat measures really give the song some great rythmical interest, and the lyrics are pretty sweet too. The song is about a relative of Leanor and Micah Ortega, two of the band members, who i believe was killed in a car accident... "Car" is a sweet title as it refers both to the vehicle and the person, i think this is a pretty moving tribute to a human being....
the person who died was named Carlos (nicknamed Car) and Leanor Ortega is nicknamed Jeff The Girl in the band.
yeah and as a side note, Car was Leanor's brother
I can't listen to this song, it''s just too sad. Leanor is a great songwriter, in this one, a little too good.
