Plan B Lyrics
I fell asleep with my clothes on/
Dropped my keys on the front lawn/
Waking up I watch the drool a-gleaming/
from my mouth to the carpet it is streaming/
chorus
Giving up, it never felt so good/
welcome to plan B/
Giving up, what is the likelihood/
life could be so free?
I’ll eat some moldy bread/
then I’m going back to bed/
I know how this day will crescendo/
I’ll fall asleep while I play Nintendo/
bridge
Up to now in my life I have failed/
all I’ve tried, it’s too hard/
I think I’ve found my calling now/
laying down, in the yard/
Don’t you cry Momma, don’t you even weep/
‘cause you know your son excels at sleep
Dropped my keys on the front lawn/
Waking up I watch the drool a-gleaming/
from my mouth to the carpet it is streaming/
Giving up, it never felt so good/
welcome to plan B/
Giving up, what is the likelihood/
life could be so free?
then I’m going back to bed/
I know how this day will crescendo/
I’ll fall asleep while I play Nintendo/
Up to now in my life I have failed/
all I’ve tried, it’s too hard/
I think I’ve found my calling now/
laying down, in the yard/
Don’t you cry Momma, don’t you even weep/
‘cause you know your son excels at sleep

dude i love this song. recently i have really been getting into FIF. and they are a awsome ska/punk band. possibvly better than RBF. this song is one of my favorites by them. You Can't Handle This is another favorite. Well i dunno but if you like reel big fish, save ferris, or even goldfingers old stuff, you'll love five iron frenzy.
I love this song. About the only all-out ska song on their new CD, it also adds a bit more humor to it that's lacking (especially compared to their last one), at least in my opinion. Anyway, I'd have to say I like FIF a LOT more than RBF... I liked them more anyway, but recenlty at Warped Tour, I got to see them both. Unfortunately, I had to leave FIF early 'coz they overlapped them, and boy was I upset. Whereas FIF was all crazy like (especially Jeff), RBF was just kinda... I dunno, not that great, plus it was too packed to skank. Unfortunately, the crowd was kinda lame with FIF, although while I was there they didn't play much to dance to. Oh, and BTW, check out the Planet Smashers. great Canadish ska, was the most fun I had at Warped, hands down... 25 min. straight of skanking. uh... what was I talking about? Yeah.
it's almost like an anthem of laziness. when all else gets too hard or too stressful, i guess we all need a plan b to live on for a while, eh?
great tune, catchy song.
Moldy bread has ergot alkaloids and was the cause of "St Anthony's Fire"- a "divine state" which is actually a close relative to an LSD experience.
Sure I don't think that's what FIF is getting at, but as Pentecostals I wouldn't think St Anthony's Fire is too far from their realm of knowledge.
When I was in high school I liked this song because it was funny and catchy. Today I got the urge to listen to it because my crazy college life and midterm week have got me thinking about why I'm even doing all this... and this song cheered me up a little bit, because it's a reminder that "plan b" isn't so pretty.
Do they have a thing for bread mold? because in Superpowers it says: I've developed a taste for bread mold! then here it says: I'll eat some moldy bread then I'll go back to bed
i think they like bread mold.. too bad i just now found out about FIF. i was in kindergarden when they were big. so now me and all my friends are like only listening to FIF...even though they are dead. too bad. they were awesome. i love all of their music. this song is so awesome
