747 (english) Lyrics

Silence,
like a whisper
Maybe tomorrow it won´t be here
So tomorrow we could teach them some new styles
You are such a killer
So shoot me down again
It won´t hurt when the killing is done by a friend

Silence,
like a whisper
So this is all we need
The fully air conditioned sound of speed
A violent whisper
And this time it´s for real
So this day I made plans for us to leave

Silence,
why won´t you listen
Maybe it´s just me
but sometimes it´s
impossible to breath
A violent whisper
Maybe this time it won´t heal
Maybe this time it will bleed untill I´m free

Amazing song..... I especially love the last lines in this song....I'm glad I stumbled upon this band.

Aside from a few lines the English version is very different from the Swedish version, which seems like a fairly straight-forward (yet lovely) description of an airplane crash:

"and as panic breaks out / you smile faintly / and whisper to me / 'You are worth dying for' / but against rubber, glass, and metal / a miracle means nothing at all."

The English version seems to not be aircraft related at all though, as the only clearly airplane-related part, "The fully air conditioned sound of speed " - which, with the exception of "silence", is the only line that's the same in the Swedish version - refers to a cab in the Swedish version. The song seems to me to be more about trying to leave someone or something, but to keep coming back ("Maybe tomorrow it won´t be here"), only to face the same things that made you leave, and each time you leave you're hoping that this time you'll be able to stay away permanently ("Maybe this time it won´t heal / Maybe this time it will bleed untill I´m free").

While they sound a bit suicidal, I'd say the last two lines are more about getting over something than killing yourself. It wouldn't be the first time Kent used the 'bleed to death' metaphor for emotional pain (it's used in Kevlarsjäl, for example).

And in case anyone is amused by such trivia, the track is 7:47 long on the album.

To those of you who like this one, listen to the Swedish version. It\'s much better IMO, as Swedish is a truly beautiful language, especially performed by Kent.

Publius I totally agree!! The lyrics sound SO MUCH BETTER in swedish! I'm an american but live in Sweden and Kent is my absolute favorite swedish band! One of my fave bands period. But I really can't even listen to the songs in english. It's just not the same!

Piling onto the whole "it's better in Swedish" bandwagon. Regardless, it's still an amazing song, especially stuck at the end of the album.

Great lyrics, the title is obviously tied to the aircraft, and basically I think this song is about flying off to someplace new and starting over, leaving behind something that ties him down and keeps him imprisoned

absolutely one of kent's BEST songs. love the swedish and english ones almost the same but, of course, the swedish one is a little better. both are great, though, but that's just because it's kent and they're amazing all the time!

true, the lyrics don't match the swedish original's at all but, it's still as emotional as the other because Jocke Berg's voice is so moving.
