I don't fancy you too much, child
I don't fancy you too much, child
Don't fancy you too much, child
I don't fancy you too much
You think you're cute, you think you're fine
You're always tryin' to steal my shine
Get off of me, don't mess with me
You know who you are

I've always been so nice to you, girl
Helping you, girl, there for you, girl
You always try to compete with me, girl
Using me, girl, abusing me, girl
Flirting with every man you see
Especially if the man likes me
Baby, where's your self esteem?
Find your own identity

(Your head ain't right)
Non-congratulating schemer
(Your head ain't right)
You's a liar and a cheater
And I don't want you, I don't want you
I don't want you no more
Don't come knocking at my door
I don't know what you came here for
If you didn't know, then now you know

I don't fancy you too much, child
I don't fancy you too much, child
Don't fancy you too much, child
I don't fancy you too much
You think you're cute, you think you're fine
You're always tryin' to steal my shine
Get off of me, don't mess with me
You know who you are

Roll those eyes, girl, twist them hips, girl
Swing that handle in the air
If you wonder why you never had a girlfriend
I think I made myself clear
Girl, change (change) your ways (ways)
Right now (now), today (day)
Stop hating (hating) me (me)
Baby, find you own identity

(Your head ain't right)
Non-congratulating schemer
(Your head ain't right)
You's a liar and a cheater
And I don't want you, I don't want you
I don't want you no more
Don't come knocking at my door
Don't know what you came here for
If you didn't know, then now you know

I don't fancy you too much, child
I don't fancy you too much, child
Don't fancy you too much, child
I don't fancy you too much (you see, girl)
You think you're cute, you think you're fine
You're always tryin' to steal my shine
Get off of me, don't mess with me
You know who you are

Girlfriend, Lord knows that I've tried
No matter how much I give to you
You only use me for what I got
You take my kindness for weakness
You take advantage of people
One day, you shall reap what you sow
Girl, get your head up out the clouds (oh, yeah)

Girlfriend, you think you're cute
Girlfriend, and you think you're fine
Girlfriend, you're always tryin'
You're always tryin' to steal my shine

Girlfriend, you think you're cute, yeah
Girlfriend, and you think you're fine, girl
Girlfriend, you're always tryin'
You're always tryin' to steal my shine

I don't fancy you too much, child
I don't fancy you too much, child
Don't fancy you too much, child
I don't fancy you too much
You think you're cute, you think you're fine
You're always tryin' to steal my shine
Get off of me, don't mess with me
You know who you are

I don't fancy you too much, child (I'm not feelin')
I don't fancy you too much, child (No, no, no, no, no)
Don't fancy you too much, child (I'm not feelin', no)
I don't fancy you too much (fancy, I'm not feelin' you)
You think you're cute, you think you're fine
You're always tryin' to steal my shine
Get off of me, don't mess with me
You know who you are (woo)

I don't fancy you too much, child (not feelin' you, girl)
I don't fancy you too much, child (don't like you, girl)
Don't fancy you too much, child (don't fancy you, girl)
I don't fancy you too much (gettin' on my nerves)
You think you're cute, you think you're fine (gettin' what you deserve)
You're always tryin' to steal my shine (dealin' with all that dirt)
Get off of me, don't mess with me

I won't say no names

The song is about an un-classy girl trying to take advantage of her friend.. "Flirten with every man you see, especially if that man likes me" have had that with one particular fake friend this song fits perfectly, just one hting boys come and go friends stay.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
