I went outside to catch the snow

Ice is raining.
Ice is raining.
(Snow)
Ice is raining.
Ice is raining.

I went outside to catch the snow (How far, how far, how far)

Will I go to protect my hide? protect my
Will I go to protect my hide? protect my

I went outside to catch the snow

Ice is raining.
Ice is raining.
(Snow )
Ice is raining.
Ice is raining.

I went outside to catch the snow ( How far, how far, how far)

Will I go to protect my hide?
Will I go to protect my
Will I go to protect my hide?
Will I go to protect my

As I seal myself inside.
The zippers catch my skin.
And as I waddle towards the doorway a freezer hits me.
As I stumble from my house, I reach down for the sled.
And as I start to shape my weapon, a cold one hits me.

I turn around and walk back home.
I turn around and walk back home.
I turn around and walk back home.
I turn around and walk back home.

The drum loop in this song is a sample from the Minutemen song "It's Expected I'm Gone." Hence the title "Hurley" -- George Hurley was the drummer for the Minutemen.

Little interesting fact... When he says "Will i go protect my hide?" I dont think a lot of listeners quite understand what he means. Well in the British "langauge" a hide is actually a hidden shelter used to get a close view of wildfire. This song is just a really nostalgic little number about the guys childhood. Thumbs way up!

I love this song. But I think the lyrics are slightly different.

As I seal myself inside, the zippers catch my skin, And as I waddle towards the doorway, A freezer hits me As I stumble from my house, I reach down for the sled, And as I start to shape my weapon A cold one hits me!

this just proves how awesome pinback is and how musicians can just sing about anything and get away with it being artistic. Ex."Yesterday I woke up sucking a lemon", thats a part of a radiohead song and yet, it still is very very good. Bravo

NO! None of Pinback's songs are about anyone from Lost, all the songs you're using as evidence came out before Lost ever aired. So not only is it impossible but if you would actually listen to the lyrics you'd see it has nothing to do with a television character who's stranded on an island AT ALL.

The song is pretty clearly about a snowball fight if you would just read what others have said/think about it/and then read the lyrics. And the third poster's comment about where the title comes is actually feasible, unlike yours. Please stop.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
