I think it's a lullaby to Trey's kid.

some people i know have been telling me they thought this song was written about a phan who died ...any insight?

This song makes me want to buy a farm, live alone, drive a tractor all day and wear a straw hat.

yeah, it sounds like a lullaby type song... my older sister used to play it when my nephew (her son) kiernan was starting his nap. very relaxing. i love it.

yeah it definatly sounds like a lullaby. It so peaceful and relaxing. Its a good song to listen to on long car trips.

Many times Trey and Tom's lyrics aren't meant to mean anything but rather to paint a picture or evoke a certain feeling. This song certainly evokes a peaceful feeling and that may be all there is to it.

However, reading the lyrics, I get the impression of a peaceful ride on a tour bus. Seeing the tumbling greens of the landscape, an occasional pick-up truck screaming alongside. I suppose in a large bus, you may have the feeling of floating on air above the trees (the above the trees part may be a stretch, but with poetic license, it makes sense). The bus itself would be softly singing its song, humming on down the highway. I repeat, the bus is softly siging sweet songs. Silent scenes in motion is well, the scenery, which, of course, you can't hear, but it's moving (or actualy you are, but it appears to be in motion). Somebody on the bus sleeping. You don't wake him/her. You let them enjoy the sleep with the peaceful sounds of the bus signing her sweet song. You try to get some sleep yourself, sitting by the stairs at the front of the bus, but sleep is sporadic at best ("Time, it seems, in broken dreams, to sleep beside the stair").

I'm probably wrong. But it makes pretty good sense. Regardless, it's a very peaceful and relaxing song.

It's a trip, it's got a funky beat, and I can bug out to it.
