We got the soul - we got the honey :: To stay alive we keep on running :: House is on fire - we're petrol-stained :: We stay on the move - ahead of the flames :: We are the new accelerators :: Faster we go before they make us :: Maybe we did maybe we don't :: Let's see your face as you throw the stone :: I am a fugitive on the run :: I carry the weight of what I've done :: Those born of sweat through eyes of love :: Bring more light than 5000 hurts :: It's not where you're from but where you go :: And what you believe is more than you know :: Open your head open your head :: Hold me close as we jump off the edge :: I am a fugitive on the run :: I carry the weight of what I've done :: So don't carry the weight :: Don't carry the weight :: You can't change the world :: But you can change what's to come :: I am a fugitive on the run :: So don't carry the weight :: Don't carry the weight

i have only been to one bush concert, march 5th, chicago, and this was the first song that they played. Everytime that i hear it now, i get the same feeling i had that night, its amazing.

This was one of the songs on the Cd that i thought was just ok. Yet i always catch myself singing it. Its catchy. I really like it know. I dunno he probably just feels guilty for somthing he did. Mabye he feels as if he diddn't act in time and somthing bad happened. And he feels as if he could of changed "whats to come". I dunno, cool song.

This song's whole appeal is in the line You can't change the world But you can change what's to come It means so much and has to be my favorite line from any bush song

This is my least favorite song on Golden State. It's not a terrible song, i just have a hard time gettin into it. Like i've said before, American Eyes should have replaced this track

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
