Dreaming Neon Black Lyrics
Sometimes when I'm alone I still feel you
Your breath on my neck, you're still with me
And I'm still dreaming neon black
I wait for you, to taste your unknown world
The clock spins to time that must mean nothing
Meet me in the dreamtime water, drown
Shifting shaping currents flow in memory
swim through me
Meet me in the drowning pool of tears
And wash away my innocence and fear
Sometimes I wonder where you are, can you feel my tears?
I never knew what changed you
Did they paint your dreams in pale shades?
I wait for you, you know you cannot hide
Division from within invalidates suffering
Meet me in the dreamtime water, drown
Shifting shaping currents flow in memory
swim through me
Meet me in the drowning pool of tears
And wash away my innocence
I am a child of light living in your mind
The pain, the unknowing washes away in time
Until then will you meet me whenever I call to you?
Meet me in the dreamtime water, drown
Shifting shaping currents flow in memory
swim through me
Meet me in the drowning pool of tears
and wash away my innocence
Meet me in the dreamtime water, drown
Shifting shaping currents flow in memory
swim through me
Meet me in the drowning pool of tears
And wash away my innocence
Meet me
My only cure won't you meet me?
In the drowning pool of fate the moon and the sun still wait
Won't you meet me?
I suffer silently for our love, the jester has lost his dove
Your breath on my neck, you're still with me
And I'm still dreaming neon black
I wait for you, to taste your unknown world
The clock spins to time that must mean nothing
Shifting shaping currents flow in memory
swim through me
Meet me in the drowning pool of tears
And wash away my innocence and fear
I never knew what changed you
Did they paint your dreams in pale shades?
I wait for you, you know you cannot hide
Division from within invalidates suffering
Shifting shaping currents flow in memory
swim through me
Meet me in the drowning pool of tears
And wash away my innocence
The pain, the unknowing washes away in time
Until then will you meet me whenever I call to you?
Shifting shaping currents flow in memory
swim through me
Meet me in the drowning pool of tears
and wash away my innocence
Meet me in the dreamtime water, drown
Shifting shaping currents flow in memory
swim through me
Meet me in the drowning pool of tears
And wash away my innocence
Meet me
In the drowning pool of fate the moon and the sun still wait
Won't you meet me?
I suffer silently for our love, the jester has lost his dove

Amazing song by Nevermore, one of my favourites actually. I think it speaks about, how he dreams about his other half that he loves and imagines the exact minute that she will come and "save" him from the darkness he has fallen into after they split ways.
Imo the song can reffer to a break up and the pain that one feels in him, or death and the emotions of grief/pain/loss.
Either wich way, you can feel the aching pain and suffering in each verse and note thoughout the song.

This has to be one of my favourite songs by Nevermore, it's got some wicked lyrics, and some interesting instrumental bits in it.
The cover of this album and the chorus of this song are both really creepy and dreamlike, so when I listen to this track, it's almost like I can see Warrel and some shadowy woman meeting at this infinite pool of formless waters... it's amazing.
@Elimination: You're reading into things that aren't there.
This and a lot of the spngs on the DNB album are about a former girlfriend or female friend of Warrel's (Nevermore singer) who joined a cult/became a missionary, went to Mexico and was never seen again; pressumed dead, I guess.
Man this song is one of my favorite metal songs ever. It makes sense that they made this the title track, it's such an epic.
Warrells voice can do things most other vocalists can only dream of.
Weird though that may seem, this is MY song!
...this is such a beautiful song
Beautiful song, indeed. I agree with Muzzy, Warrell's voice is amazing. This is the song that got me into Nevermore, and my favorite song by them.
This is a concept album, even though some of the songs don't seem to relate to the main concept. Darkspot is right, but continuing on what he said, Warrell once explained in an interview that around the time of the recording of DNB - years after the woman had run off - he began having recurring dreams about her drowning (hence they lyric, "meet me in the dreamtime water, drown"). He said that it was at that time he believed she was dead, and was inspired to write this album. It's not completely based on his own experience, though very heavily inspired by it.
i can't get warrell voice out of my head!!!
