This is a concept album, even though some of the songs don't seem to relate to the main concept. Darkspot is right, but continuing on what he said, Warrell once explained in an interview that around the time of the recording of DNB - years after the woman had run off - he began having recurring dreams about her drowning (hence they lyric, "meet me in the dreamtime water, drown"). He said that it was at that time he believed she was dead, and was inspired to write this album. It's not completely based on his own experience, though very heavily inspired by it.
