The desert I wonder lacks its mirage
There's no mistaking a barrage
Of sand and wind like it tears my skin (?)
Baby what's without exposing what's within

Forsaken left here
In my barren desolate

My soul is evaporating won't you saturate me won't you saturate me
Rain down on me with life
My soul is evaporating won't you saturate me won't you saturate me
Storm over me bring the tide

My days stretched long into the heat
As the sun brightens my defeat
My lips are chapped they're parched and dry
Ooh yeah yeah
My first it felt with everyday gone by

Forsaken left here
In my barren desolate

My soul is evaporating won't you saturate me won't you saturate me
Rain down on me with life
My soul is evaporating won't you saturate me won't you saturate me
Storm over me bring the tide

The dunes that shift, drifted lift in the wind
Cover up my hope as I start to give in
To the cracks and creases and the dips in my will
As I am pushed to the brink I drink down and swill

My soul is evaporating won't you saturate me won't you saturate me
Rain down on me with life
My soul is evaporating won't you saturate me won't you saturate me
Storm over me bring the tide
My soul is evaporating won't you saturate me won't you saturate me
Rain down on me with life

Ahhaoah

Sue me for liking this song, ok? Yes, I think Mandy is hot. No, I dont like "pop" music. But this song grew on me one day while hanging out with a friend who forced me to listen to it. I guess I think the chorus is good, and I like the way she sounds as she's singing it too.... I think she sounds sexy.....

The song isn't greeat, but yeah blinkbomber, her voice is sexy in the chrous and it's really catchy... mandy moore longs to be saturated in life, as her's is evaporating... very seductive, very aromatic, very catchy, very lively...

    My Interpretation

I've always felt this song was about her going through a break up with someone that she loves, but might not actually be good for her. When he's around, they have their problems and life might be chaotic. But without him she feels stranded and empty. She realizes that living a life without him isn't even living. So, she's pleading with him to return life to her by bringing back the storm that sustains her life, i.e. his love is her reason for living.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
