Ok so.... you know peewee and his playhouse,yes? Well as a child I found it so delightful that the inhabitants of his fridge liked to get up to shenanigans. Be cause I often wondered if they played hide and seek when the lights went out..... (yeah yeah my parents must've took lsd during all trimester waiting for this strange girl, I've heard it all) Harry Hood to me has that same premise as I listen. I feel like they must've thought the same? Damn I hope HOOD EGGNOG IS OK IN THE DARK. Hope he has pals to hang out with 😉 To be totally honest, I thought that mr. miner was their milkmam 🤣 dude, these lyrics can be experienced however your brain wants. i forget the whole story, but this should help non-diehards make sense of this song. the band was renting out some place and mr. minor was their landlord and harry hood was some restaurant that they could see from their window at the apartment. i dunno consult phish.net for the full story, i forget the full deal.

Wrong, Harry Hood is Hood Dairies' mascot. The Harry Hood sign was neon and would shut off at night. Thus the lyric, "Where do you go when the lights go out?" You can feel good about Hood is the company's slogan.

i thought it had to do with putting milk in the refrig. and when you close the frig door the lights go out... hence where do you go when the lights go out.
