This is a really moving song about someone who shifts their sleeping position to accomodate a lover. "When you're there, I sleep lengthwise"- he becomes more reserved, more sensitive. "When you're gone, I sleep diagonal in my bed"- the revelation of the true self... the one who loves comfort and feels that his bed is his territory, where HE should be comfortable.

Can anyone tell what song is being played at the very beginning (first few seconds) of this song on the Rift cd. Theres another song being played, but I cant quite tell what it is.

This song fades in as "It's Ice" fades out... so that's probably what you're hearing.

Actually, there's a "montage" of many (if not all) of the songs on Rift mashed up together (you can hear the "last night...." from the song Rift, the "oooohs" from Fast Enough 4 you, and perhaps others.

I think, conversely to what Jazzin' said, perhaps he means that the only thing that's different when she's gone is how he sleeps. You normally wouldn't just say how you sleep, you'd say how you are more comfortable or that you miss her when she's gone. He feels more free when she's away, he can take up the whole bed laying diagonally.
