Golgi Apparatus Lyrics

I look into the finance box just to check my status

I look into the microscope, see Golgi Apparatus

Golgi, oh, woe is me, you can't even see the sea

Golgi, olgi, oh ooo olgi Golgi

Golgi

They call him Lysasome cause he runs so fast

Runs like a junkyard dog with a brain of brass

Golgi, oh, woe is me, you can't even see the sea

Golgi, olgi, oh ooo olgi Golgi

Golgi

I saw you with a ticket stub in your hand

Under the light, middle of the night

Couldn't get it wrong so I had to...

oh, man. ok. so, I have the coolest biology professor in the world (funniest man ever). and he has a "daily tune" that he plays at the beginning of each class (it always has something to do with the lecture topic). one day it was this song, and I was hooked instantly.

Check this out. http://americansforwar.com/targets_04.shtml this is what they say Phish has also sent out messages openly and covertly supportive of terrorism. In the Phish song Golgi Apparatus the band encourages violent chemical and biological attacks against American targets. The song begins with the announcement that "I look into my finance box just to check my status." This depicts the precautions taken by every terrorist cell - finding adequate funding. The lyrics next speak of entities called "Golgi" and "lysosome," cell structures which would be useful in a biological attack. Lastly, the band illustrates the outcome of the attack when it talks of spreading "woe." This "woe" refers to the effects of previous terrorist events. The song ends with the conclusion that "I couldn't get it wrong, so I had to." This should leave no doubt about their determination. They will stop at nothing to advance their aims.

hahaha I was going to say that this just has to be one of those songs that only the people who wrote it understand...but that whole terrorist thing, yeah I'm going with that now. That has to be one of the most classic interpretations ever

this is a song about being in middle school. i know because i wrote a song in the eighth grade with a current collaberater but non-member of my band. we got togather in eighth grade english class and wrote it. it is however less scientific. here it goes: anal rupture anal rupture -i ripped her open. anal rupture anal rupture i ripped her open. her ass is way to tight/but he fucks her day and night. his dicks to big for her-it caused an anal rupture.

anal rupture anal rupture i ripped her open. anal rupture anal rupture...over and over. great stuff from the mind of eightth graders. sorry.

hahahaha, it's definetaly about terrorism... "The lyrics next speak of entities called "Golgi" and "lysosome," cell structures which would be useful in a biological attack." You obviously don't know what a golgi complex or lysosome is. This song is obviously about drugs, cuase it costs money and golgi and lysome are things that are affected! (sarcasm)

i don't know about that whole terrorism thing. i always thought this song was about being yourself and not getting bogged down with menial chores and life. the golgi apparatus, as many of us may remember from 9th grade biology, is generally used for receiving, modifying, and shipping materials; never actually dealing with the end products. this is really how many of us go about our lives, doing menial chores and never actually getting out to "see the sea". an example of this would be the person who he sees holding a ticket stub, which denotes that he or she was just waiting in some line or booth just to receive or give some sort of service or product (much like the golgi apparatus). as for the first line, in the version i heard, the song continues after the first line and goes back, and the song goes "Couldn't get it wrong so I had to look into the finance box just to check my status..." etc. this makes it seem like that BECAUSE he saw the person holding the ticket stub, he felt it necessary to check his own status. i don't really know what the lysosome line is about, but if i remember correctly, lysosomes are essentially "suicide sacs" for cells. maybe there's some connection there.
