Deep river runs its course
To a warm horizon
Shadows of falling leaves
October moon and rusty skies
Ever changing feelings
The seeds of autumn in my mind

The hiding sun
Like the hiding sun
Feels like it's just begun
The hiding sun
Like the hiding sun
Waiting for summer sun

Hiding summer's age no more
No more leaves in summer sky
Turning dark on empty car lots
When summer was my only friend
Say you're back this way again
Winter's one breath away
Say you're back this way again
Winter's one breath away
It's turning cold

Like the hiding sun
Like the hiding sun
Feels like it's just begun
The hiding sun
Like the hiding sun
Waiting for summer sun

The hiding sun
Like the hiding sun
Feels like it's just begun
The hiding sun
Like the hiding sun
Waiting for summer sun

Like the hiding sun
Like the hiding sun
Feels like it's just begun

This song is about the sadness of depression (Autumn) and the loss of something (summer). The isolation (empty carlots, summer was my only friend) of Autumn and the pending winter, although associated with sadness, there is the small hope of happiness again in that it the new season or pending summer is just beginning or on its way. It is almost like there is a beauty in the pain of Autumn or winter (feels like its just begun).

This is a beautiful song and the beauty in the voice, music and haunting lyrics epitomise the gloom and isolation of winter and autumn, but the beauty in that isolation - that is seeing empty carlots. It makes one think of a new meaning to the album "Behind the Sun" as in, behind the sun is a darkness and isolation that in itself is beautiful.

This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I think when we all think of seasons, we have emotions that riddle our mind. I think Autumn Tactics celebrate the youth we all live and the joy we miss in our youth.

A beautiful song, but it makes me feel sad. Like something you always dream about when you are so young but never really accomplish it...the beautiful things are not real.

There isn't much meaning to this song, apart from the passing of time portrayed through the seasons. Every bit as haunting as 'No Ordinary Morning.' Chicane's trippy music plus a female vocalist is always something guarenteed to work. Not so much with male vocalists. Listen to 'Turning Corners' haha. Not so good.

Ending summers in Puerto Galera back in its virgin state when you could still camp by the beach and there was only one local tranny tending the only bar by the beach. Big thoughts and the starry humid sky in poor man's Bora, we knew we were young and there wasn't much time before we'd actually discover ourselves. We were scared as shit, but at least we did get to enjoy the sun before it became a sport or a fashion. I appreciate Mac playing this song during the drive home. What a way to mark the end of the sun.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
