Ghetto Lyrics

chorus:

I believe that this world believes in love (2x)

We might never really agree
On anything about the lives we live
Between you and me. So differently.

We don’t always see things the same
We should agree to disagree
If we meet at love we can work it out

chorus:
I believe you and I will overcome
I believe you and I believe in love

Whether you think I’m so confused
Or if you feel the way I do
So don’t give in to this hate within

Living in this world of pain
Don’t let it bring you down
The world is a ghetto

chorus:
I believe that this world believes in love
I believe you and I believe in love

This is frustration at the world and all the hate and violence and unfairness everywhere. Don't get it bring you down, there are still people who believe in love. That's what it's saying.

Coincidental that this song came out just minutes after the September 11th attacks. This CD came out the morning of September 11th

I love this song.. You can really flip out hearing it. Its meaning is very stong and says although many people are corrupt in this world and bad things happen, that there are still people who "beleive in love" and that care. I cannot group these people, because as a nation, we have all led to the corruption of the world, but as individuals, there is still hope.

i think this is song is very powerful. its just about how everyone is different and everyone should love and care about everyone else, and end wars and all that stupid nonsense that happens.. but they dont and dont want to change cuz the world is a ghetto..*sighs i really enjoy p.o.d, good band.

This song is good lyricly but i was enjoying the softness then he started to yell and it kina sucked

This is one of my favorite P.O.D. songs. It, in a musically good way, communicates how love is what the world needs. We are all crammed into a ghetto called "earth" so we might as well get along and not tear ourselves down.

this song is beautiful. i love how it starts out on the soft side and then builds until sonny is yelling THE WORLD IS A GHETTO...powerful, beautiful

to SheafromDeigo: the first time i listened to this song I agreed with you, but then i realised how the song changes from him singing softly about love to the yelling that the world is a ghetto - each style completely constrasting and matches the constrasting values he is singing about and yet he manages to weave it all into a great song. P.O.D. Rocks!

"Living in this world of pain Don’t let it bring you down "

This song always gives me hope...one of my fav POD songs.

I think this song has to do with, of course, the world, but in a sense that hope seems so far gone, but still always there. I think he is expressing that though it seems lost, he believes it is still there, and we can't let our differences separate us. "We might never really agree on anything about the lives we live" He's talking about maybe a Christian to an Atheist, for example. We can't let our beliefs tear us apart. While living different lifestyles, we must always remember we are equal in everything like imperfection, and if we just stop and try to work things out, rather than spew hatred and make the world a cruel place, things could be better.

So he's talking about finding hope in a world just torn apart, and to not let the pain of this world bring you down. Never lose hope.
