Isn't Life Strange Lyrics
Isn't life strange
A turn of the page
Can read like before
Can we ask for more
Each day passes by
How hard man will try
The sea will not wait
You know it makes me want to cry, cry, cry
Wish I could be in your heart
To be one with your love
Wish I could be in your eyes
Looking back there your were and here we are
Isn't love strange
A word we arrange
With no thought or care
Maker of despair
Each breath that we breathe
With love we must weave
To make us as one
You know it makes me want to cry, cry, cry
Wish I could be in your heart
To be one with your love
Wish I could be in your eyes
Looking back there you were, and here we are
Isn't life strange
A turn of the page
A book without light
Unless with love we write
To throw it away
To lose just a day
The quicksand of time
You know it makes me want to cry cry, cry
Wish I could be in your heart
To be one with your love
Wish I could be in your eyes
Looking back there you were and here we are
A turn of the page
Can read like before

Each day passes by
How hard man will try
The sea will not wait

I think he is lamenting a relationship where one person is in love, but the love is not returned.
I saw them perform this in Vegas, while I was heartbroken for the reasons mentioned above and I came close to crying.
"Wished I could be in your heart" - that's what he wanted but he is not in her heart. Q. Why would he wish that he were in her heart? A. Because she is in his heart.
"Wished I could be in your eyes" meaning he would still be with her now - but again he is not.
To love and have it not returned will make you want to cry.
Side Note: A decent person who isn't in love would cut the relationship off. The woman I fell for knew I was in love, knew she wasn't and used me for something to do while she kept her eyes open for the next guy. This last paragraph is off-topic and is the meaning of the song of "She Waiting" by Eric Clapton.
@TommyT It somehow seems ironic or out of place for the MB to be playing a city so full of glitzy, shallow, superficial, even phoney as Las Vegas.

that first,"cry, cry, cry...looking back, there you were," always gets me. This is one of those songs I always knew existed but couldn't never find. Is this what it feels like to be content?
@Spooky_Tooth You think this song is about being content, or are you personally content because you can't find the song?? It is a great song & full of meaning about unrequited love & it appears you see that, but you say nothing about your feelings about the song??

@BDoug52 No bruh I’m saying I’m content that I found the song. And yes I don’t say much about my feelings of the song (my first line sort of does) but who cares. Songmeanings even says when you comment you can choose your category so consider this just a general comment.

A person's life experience dictates what they read into a song. I don't like it when artists explain their lyrics because they so often mean something completely different to the listener, and it kind of takes away from that.
For example, I interpret the meaning of this song very differently from the previous responders. My husband has passed away. "A turn of the page can read like before" to me means we can go back and re-live our love, though he is in Heaven and I am here. "Wished I could be in your heart to be one with your love" to me simply means I want to be able to continue to share his love. Even though he is physically gone, I want to be one with him. "Wished I could be in your eyes, looking back there you were"...Wow. Pretty clear to me. I wish he could see me. I wish I could look back and see him. Makes me want to cry, cry, cry.
@keddleman Songs about loss can also be read as missing a person who has died. Stephen Foster songs come to mind ('sleep' as a euphemism for death).

@keddleman My husband also passed away. I know some time has passed for you now in writing this. But I have to say your words echo my own hearts understanding of this song. This 10 sing compilation came into my feed out of nowhere on a night I had claimed as our Date Night a short time after he had passed. I was in joyful tears for all the songs Jed sent me. I knew he was speaking to me. And still to this day...exactly 6 months now...we continue to be "always together!". On this Harvest Moon in Pisces...

This is a great song that shows that life is so weird and we know not the future
The great thing about gorgeous lyrics like these is that they make sense on so many levels and from so many different perspectives. I am not a Christian, but I couldn\'t help thinking about these lyrics being a love song to and a longing for Jesus.
@EF A longing for Jesus?? Is that the way you view your spiritual guide, that you are in love with him & want to be him? That's a bit strange, imho.
