The Tower of Learning Lyrics
I'm looking for the copious prize
I saw it in your eyes what I'm looking for
I saw it in your eyes what I'm looking for
I really do fear that I'm dead
I saw it in your eyes what I'm looking for
I saw it in your eyes what will make me live
Pale inside your iris
Tip the Eiffel Tower with one glance
Stained glass cathedrals with one glint
What I'm looking for
One blink and then my heart wasn't there no more
I'm looking for the copious prize

It took me several listens to love this song.I liked "The Consort" better, but after finding out it's meaning..ugh..it's a little too blunt.
This is a great song though with lots of emotion. Not one to skip :)

To me, this song is about true love.
"I'm looking for the tower of learning I'm looking for the copious prize I saw it in your eyes what I'm looking for" He wants to know what true love is, and he wants the greatest prize of all, which to him is love. And obviously he found someone who he truly loves and now wants whoever it is.
"All the sights of Paris Pale inside your iris Tip the Eiffel Tower with one glance Stained glass cathedrals with one glint" - He is saying that all of the beauty of paris looks dull (pale) to this person.
"You smashed it with your eyes What I'm looking for One blink and then my heart wasn't there no more" - This I'm not sure of. Though I think he is saying that this person then broke his heart, referencing how the person tipped the eiffel tower with one glance and then doing the same to his heart.

i don't know why, but this song is the most gorgeous thing i've heard in a long time. i guess it's that feeling that you want it to be about you... you want to affect someone that way.

the third stanza just tears me apart.

"One blink and then my heart wasn't there no more." Man. Yeah, belle, I agree, but at the same time, it sure reminds you of when you've been affected that way, doesn't it? His voice is... perfect for all this.

when it progresses into "all the sights of paris" its absolutely breath taking. he just needs that one person to love. and thus, to live for. because without it, theres no point to any of this.

i dont know. I haven;t heard this song but i found the quote "One blink and then my heart wasn't there no more", that alone meant nothing to me, and i dont relate this to love, but this song has meaning to me.
this is how i works for me (i have depression and am searching and hoping to get better;) I'm looking for the tower of learning I'm looking for the copious prize
(i have a friend who knows how to make me feel better and to make it all - the darkness- dissolve) I saw it in your eyes what I'm looking for
(stanza two explains for itself)
(this friend makes things apear to be different and things had a different colour)All the sights of Paris Pale inside your iris Tip the Eiffel Tower with one glance Stained glass cathedrals with one glint
my friend hasn't smashed it yet. cross fingers

This song is so thrilling when it gets to the "All the sights of Paris," I agree!
I think that copious is such an unusual word to use in that sentence. For a long time I thought I must have heard it wrong.
I really love this song. I think one of my favorite things about it is the low backup singing voices in between the verses. It reminds me of monks singing, yet sounds really beautiful.

This is my favourite on the album....it has that operatic quality that RW does so well. I agree that 'one blink and my heart wasn't there no more' says it all...

Someone you love so deeply and instantly can devastate you just as suddenly and completely.
