Awake Lyrics
I am lost
The footprints that I left have disappeared
For now I am driving blind
Accelerate
Without a destination to welcome me
This road is just an endless loop
CHORUS
Every time I close my eyes
The noise inside me amplifies
I can't escape
I relive every moment of the day
Every misstep I have made
Finds a way it can invade
My every thought
And this is why I find myself awake
Directionless
The letters on the signs have long since faded
The sky conspires to swallow me
Paid the price
For burning all the maps to warm myself
I threw their ashes to the wind
(Chorus)
Walk away
Time to leave the realm of the familiar
To find a place where sleep can come
Hesitate
For one last time I shout into the sky
To wake the ones I'll leave behind
(Chorus) x 2
The footprints that I left have disappeared
For now I am driving blind
Without a destination to welcome me
This road is just an endless loop
Every time I close my eyes
The noise inside me amplifies
I can't escape
I relive every moment of the day
Every misstep I have made
Finds a way it can invade
My every thought
And this is why I find myself awake
The letters on the signs have long since faded
The sky conspires to swallow me
For burning all the maps to warm myself
I threw their ashes to the wind
Time to leave the realm of the familiar
To find a place where sleep can come
For one last time I shout into the sky
To wake the ones I'll leave behind

for those of us on here with bi-polar--doesnt this sound like the storm where mania fades, and trhe depression starts to set in....a very nasty time in deed...but this is a very good job describing it
TO me, it just seems like not even being bi-polar, but simply not knowing whats going on in life any more, being so desperately lost, not being able to see anything to help you, not having any guidance in life, nothing to point you in a good direction, and, in the end, trying to simply go somewhere new that eventually, you feel you belong.
To me it seems kind of like a form of insomnia. I have sleep troubles like what it seems the song it talking about, so I feel I can relate to it. Just like the song says, every time I try to sleep, I cant stop thinking about the things Ive done, not bad things, just everything I've done. One thought leads to another and I just cant stop thinking and just cant sleep. Thats the chorus at least, I cant really relate to the rest of the song.
