Patti Smith wrote the lyrics, as she also did on some songs from Agents of Fortune and Tyranny & Mutation. I'm pretty sure most of the songs from the album, save Subhuman and Astronomy, weren't written with the Imaginos idea in mind, but it sort of relates anyway.
