Step into this picture, release all your light
I think God has gone mad here tonight
You can't believe your eyes, control is so hard to keep
Obsession can be hell from which you'll never be free
It's all for the taking, here tonight

Rip out your heart
I'll tear it apart
Throw it to the ground
All fall down

Where good girls go to die, that's where I'll be
Waiting for my love with my heart on my sleeve
Forget about the future, forget about the past
My heart beats so, my hands are cold, oh God make this moment last

You seek to fill me with virtues I lack
I'll turn your pure white wings to pure black
You've pushed too far and now you've lost control, can't you see?
You thought you were the master but you're down on your knees
It's all for the taking, here tonight

Rip out your heart
I'll tear it apart
Throw it to the ground
All fall down

Where good girls go to die, that's where I'll be
Waiting for my love with my heart on my sleeve
Forget about the future, forget about the past
My heart beats so, my hands are cold, oh God make this moment last

Where good girls go to die, that's where I'll be
Remembering our love as if it were a disease
Forget about the future, it wasn't meant to last
My heart beats slow my hands are cold - Oh God it's the end at last

I think it's about a bad boy who gets a good girl to fall in love with him. Her feelings are not returned, though he pretends they are. He eventually depurifies her, steals her morals and takes her virtue. He then leaves her, having changed her into someone she's not because she's in love with him.

In my opinion, this song means much the same as the one chick above me. He takes this girl and they fall in love, he warps her mind and its over. (well basically)... but its an amazing song none the less

yes i agree with all of it.

but also i also think that when he leaves her i think she kill herself: "...My heart beats slow my hands are cold Oh God it's the end at last."

a girl, really pure and innocent fells in love with a "darker" man, her love changes her entire world as she "steps in this picture" and her "good side" is gone "release all your light" even the "darker" man cant understand the change of the girl and he thinks "god has gone mad" (to let her innocent girl fell in love with a darker man) the girl left heaven for the obsession's hell. The man now wants to take advantage of the girl's love for him and obviously seduces her, then the girl believes she can have the upper hand in the relationship and turn the man into a slave "thought you where the master" & "fill me with virtues i lack" But the man is now angry and no more want to make love with her (he never loved her i think) so he pushes her away claiming the relationship has no future (heart beats slow/hands are cold i think means he is very distant and without feelings)...1 of the explanations i give to this song probably stupid but oh well

    Song Meaning

The meaning is about a specific relationship Sean had that evntually turned bad and where he broke up with the girl - hence the lyrics "remembering our love as if it were a disease" at the end chorus, lyrics that REPLACE the normal chorus from earlier in the song that say quite the opposite. Jeez, people, come on! Again, Sean has said this in interviews. I don't understand why people don't understand that these songs are all based in reality.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
