Yea, yea, yea
Ooh
I can feel it move me
Feel it shove me
As I break the law
Said yea
I can feel it's jabbing
Cuts the numbness then I
I come alive yea

Twist of Cain
Yea drives my brain
Yea twist of Cain
Make me come alive
'Cause it's a

Yea twist of Cain
Yea drives my brain
Yea twist of Cain
Make me come alive

Said yea
I took it standing
Broke commandments
And he tumbled like a toy
Blood
Like a crimson highway
Spreading out
From his forehead to the ground

Twist of Cain
Yea drives my brain
Yea twist of Cain
Make me come alive
'Cause it's a

Yea twist of Cain
Yea drives my brain
Yea twist of Cain
Make me come alive
Wo-oh, yea

Wo-oh God above
Feel a twist of Cain
Inside a beating heart, well
Wo-oh
want to know
Got a little twist of Cain
From the God below, yea

Yea
I know my breeding
Know my father
He was born of light
Said yea
Can't hardly stand it
Cuts me down the middle
Then I
I come alive yea

Twist of Cain
Yea drives my brain
Yea twist of Cain
Make me come alive
'Cause it's a

Yea twist of Cain
Yea drives my brain
Yea twist of Cain
Make me come alive
Come alive
Wo-oh, yea

Wo-oh
God above
Feel a twist of Cain
Inside a beating heart, yea
Wo-oh
want to know
Got a little twist of Cain
From the God below

Wo-oh, wo-oh
Feel a twist of Cain
Inside a beating heart
Wo-oh, wo-oh
Got a little twist of Cain
From the God below, yea

I cant believe all the people thinking this is about cocaine. Not hard to figure out though, the songs about committing murder, or the act of murder. Cain is referring to Cain and Abel and to Cain who was the first person to commit murder in the bible. Classic Glenn Danzig who was also a founding member of the Misfits and considered a founder of the "horror" subgenre of music.

I believe this song is a reference to the Bible. Cain and Abel were Adam and Eve's first two sons. Cain was jealous of Abel, so he killed him. God was pretty pissed at Cain, so he banished him, and put a mark on his forehead so no one would kill him.

This song has deep meaning and always makes you think. I guess it is about a man of power that lives in a time that controls the life and death of nameless people. He is so enthralled by the killing that it's described as him having the twist of cain inside his beating heart. He says his father was born of light. Can't hardly stand it... He is born from a ruler that he himself took his place and now ruling. He is not like his father. A cesar type ruler that held death shows in ampitheatres. The Cain reference is of course referring to what Cain did; being the first to kill another.

Yea, i see what you mean by that, but when it says 'cuts me down the middle' isn't that like chopping a line? I don't do coke, so i don't really know much about it, but that's what it sounds like.

Possibly...I'd always thought about it in a biblical sense...I never heard of cocaine being called cain, but, maybe the song is a metaphor using both biblical stuff and drugs.

Yea, that's true too. Cain just being the last fragment of the word anyway. But since i also don't know much about the bible, i couldn't tell ya.

well it does make sense to take it in the drug sense... Danzig doesnt really write about drugs much... but he does write about evil and biblical stuff so i think freefallenangel was rite on target

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
