Steeper Than We Thought Lyrics
Warned too late a simple reduction
Not with your weight
Well I'm sorry there's nothing
And I believe just can't fight this suction
And I believe
And it's over before it was done
There's nothing to fear
Filled with courage
They cannot conceive of wasting another year
And sworn to their fate but lost the instructions
Not with their hate
They should've thought it was something
Well I believe I just can't fight this suction
And I believe
And it's over before it was done
There's nothing to fear
Filled with courage
They cannot conceive of wasting another year
Not with your weight
Well I'm sorry there's nothing
And I believe just can't fight this suction
And I believe
There's nothing to fear
Filled with courage
They cannot conceive of wasting another year
Not with their hate
They should've thought it was something
Well I believe I just can't fight this suction
And I believe
There's nothing to fear
Filled with courage
They cannot conceive of wasting another year

a perfect song for the last one on the album, i think its about saying goodbye before your ready to...even though u knew it was going to happen you were never ready for them to leave, and it sucks cuz your filled with all the courage but you could never conceive it and speak up about your feelings... but thats only in my mind
i think it's a romantic take on suicide. the lines in the verses "i just can't fight this suction", "sworn to their fate but lost the instructions", etc. seem to be about being completely dissastisfied and disillusioned with life.
being unable to "conceive of wasting another year" seems to speak pretty strongly of ending one's life.
