I love this song...it is the epitamy of how women feel when they fall for a guy...the obsession that comsumes us...wanting to give our all...always going faster than the guy...we are masocist with the obsession of wanting him to want us completely. The song has everything to do with psychological abuse men are so good at. If you break it down this is my opinion of the song:

(She wants him to find a way for her to let go of him...in her mind he is too perfect)

You might swear you'd never touch a lady well, let me say you're not too far from maybe every day you find new ways to hurt me

(This is where the psychological abuse is implied...guys find so many ways to hurt us without it being physical...forgetting important things, ignoring us...etc.)

But I can't help it if I'm just a fool always having my heart set on you 'til the time you start changing the rules I'll keep chasing the soles of your shoes

(And just like us we take it because the love of this man is more important)

(And she knows that she made her bed and she has to lay in it...because he is what she wants. Inward she is ashamed of how she acts...but she will keep doing it to herself)

(Women start too feel like it's normal to be with an emotionally challenged man...and they start feeling like the abuse is normal)

I LOVE THIS SONG TOO. IT REMIND ME SO MUCH OF MY EX BOYFRIEND. IT HAS THE NAME RICARDO ALL OVER AND IN BETWEEN THE LINES. BUT THE REASON I LOVE THIS SONG IS THAT WHEN I WAS FEELING JUST LIKE THE SONG, I WAS TERRIBLY DEPRESSED AND CONFUSED. BUT NOW I CAN LOOK AT IT AND SMILE AS MEMMORIES FLOOD BACK, AND REMEBER ALL THE LESSONS I LEARNED FROM THAT TIME IN MY LIFE. AND THE ONE AND ONLY REASON I CAN SMILE IS BECAUSE THE LOVE OF MY LIFE BOYFRIEND HELPED ME TO GET THROUGH IT. THANX BABE, I LOVE YOU. AND FOR ALL THOSE GIRLS WHO ARE GOING THROUGH THIS RIGHT NOW, DONT LOSE HOPE OR FAITH OR DO ANYTHING TO HURT YOURSELF, THIS IS JUST A MILESTONE IN YOUR LIFE AND TRUST ME YOU WILL GET THROUGH IT. You know, some people love others no matter what they have done to them... I'm one of them, unfortunately

Lyric Correction: "Got resigned, from hearing my old story" is actually, "God resigned, from hearing my old story." I know what "syd Mel" means about her last remark. I'm the same way, but don't think it's bad or anything, it just means you have a big enough heart to FORGIVE and forget. Personally, that sounds better than losing love. I can totally relate to this song.

My interpretation of this song is that the singer is in love with someone and really can't help it, but the object of her affection doesn't love her back. (Or possibly, he's homosexual: "You might swear you'd never touch a lady" and "Until the time you start changing the rules") I love this song and can really relate to it. It's my favorite song on the CD. :)
