My interpretation of this song is that the singer is in love with someone and really can't help it, but the object of her affection doesn't love her back. (Or possibly, he's homosexual: "You might swear you'd never touch a lady" and "Until the time you start changing the rules")
I love this song and can really relate to it. It's my favorite song on the CD. :)
