When I listen to this song, I imagine what type of understanding you suddenly have when you are sitting in a car, and you realize that it is about to crash and there is nothing you can do about it. Thats obviously the most intense kind of situation, but more generally its about accepting the inevitablity of pain in life. There are some times you know your life is about to get really fucked up and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it but accept it and move on. Thats what the understanding in a car crash is.
I think the song is about him leaning on drugs to help him cope with his friend dying... And he doesn't want to keep using them (I don't want to feel this way forever), but every day he feels the loss again (crash my car everyday the same way) and has to go back to his drugs (the twilight world in blue in white, the needle and the damage done)
everytime i hear this song i can imagine the singer in a crashed car with his dead love one, his face all bloddy just mouthing these words...

when i went to a thursday show, geoff dedicated this song to anyone who's ever lost someone to a car crash. he said he wrote it for his close friend whom he lost to an accident. you're all wrong, fools.
this song is brilliant.. and fabulous. thursday is one of the best bands out here. the guitar solo is amazing. awesome beat.. stays in my head.
To me this song is about being in a car crash, and the very last thoughts that run through your head. The understanding of life in the last few seconds of your own...or err..something. Meh. Probably not what the song is about at all but that's what it means to me.
This song is about how devastating a car crash could be. If you know someone that was in a car crash like that, or if you've been in one yourself, then you'd know what it can be like. I have a friend who's paralyzed from the waist down, that shit don't really have a hidden message to it. This song is fucking brilliant.
