You never remember your oath anymore
You never remember your oath
It'll happen again
Like it happened before
You never remember your oath

You said that you were done
Now you'd finally found the one
You swore that you
Had changed forever

Cause you finally cracked the code
Now you're on a different road
And your mind is a rearranged
In a better way

You made a promise to a man
Signed the paper, shook his hand
You said you'd never ever serve another

So he showed you what to see
And he taught you who to be
You thought you threw him a curve
When you walked away

But now you never remember your oath anymore
You never remember your oath
It's happening again like it happened before
You never remember your oath

The vow you had to take
Was a deal you can't forsake
It doesn't really matter
If you can't remember

Cause it was happening all along
And when your life started going wrong
That was something that he planned from the very start

So now your demon's back again
I can't believe that you let him in
They always figure out a way to get you

And when you went against your pledge
You knocked yourself right off the ledge
You broke your body, broke your spirit
You broke your heart

Now you'll never remember your oath anymore
You'll never remember your oath
It happened again like it happened before
You'll never remember your oath

Would like to hear some thoughts on this song and album in general. It feels like a song about the struggles to keep our demons at bay but comments about serving someone as the path to salvation puts a different meaning to it. It's a spiritual message but I wonder what kind of spirit Andrew keeps invoking. His lyrics make me wonder if he's a Satanist.
