I know you better than you think I do
You coulda stuck with me
But I guess a girl's gotta do what she has to
Every now and then, my name passes your lips
Your late night stroll down a memory lane
On your, your finger tips

Do you miss me so much?

Feeling like I hypnotized you
Feel a burning deep inside you
The only thing that satisfies
You miss me so much
And now you're burning with that old flame
Yearning for my old game
You tremble when you hear my name
You miss me so much
Well, that's too bad

And we go together like a hand and gun
Squeeze off a couple rounds
Put me away 'til next time you wanna hurt someone
Every now and then, you like to empty your clip, no no
Then I go right under your belt on your hip

Do you miss me so much?

Feeling like I hypnotized you
Feel a burning deep inside you
The only thing that satisfies
You miss me so much
And now you're burning with that old flame
Yearning for my old game
You tremble when you hear my name
You miss me so much
Well, that's too bad, too bad, too bad

Feeling like I hypnotized you
Feel a burning deep inside you
The only thing that satisfies
You miss me so much
And now you're burning with that old flame
Yearning for my old game
You tremble when you hear my name
You miss me so much, so much
And you miss me
Well, that's too bad

This song is about a guy who is finished with a girl who was not loyal to him in the past and left him for someone else. Even though she misses him and wants to get back together with him, he won't let it happen due to mistrust.

"I know you better than you think I do You coulda stuck with me But I guess a girl's gotta do what she has to"

He knows better than to let her back into his life because his trust for her to stay by him has run out.

After being apart from him for so long, she starts to miss what she had with him, but that's too bad because he won't fall for her again.

"And we go together like a hand and gun Squeeze off a couple rounds Put me away 'til next time you wanna hurt someone Every now and then, you like to empty your clip, no no Then I go right under your belt on your hip"

The underlying cause for his rejection of her is because he gave her plenty of chances to return to him, but each time she only acknowledged his existence for a little while and rejected his attempts to get back with her like she was satisfied with just having him want her only to hurt him just to boost her ego, and the only reason she is reaching out to him now is because she lost her toy since he moved on from her.

P.S: This is the first and so far, only comment on the song meaning of this song 'Too Bad' by Rival Sons which is surprising to me because the meaning of the song seems extremely obvious or perhaps it is only obvious to me because this exact thing has happened to me exactly how the song describes and I have always listened to Rival Sons.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
