[Verse 1]
This my life, this my life
Everyday's a new page I write
Dreaming higher than satellites
I remember the days I was flying kites
Now I'm living it up
See me conduct
The greatest come up
You could say we'll erupt
Never enough
And it's only for us
For the team and the fans
We're coming right up
But all I want you to know
You're never too old
To chase your dreams
Watch you seem
Make a team
Plot and scheme
Be the king
This my life story
All these other books don't matter
History in the making and this is the first chapter
Give you my arm
And we're taking it over
Leave you and all
Even after it's over
Tell me your problems, I'll give you my shoulder
Slave to the work, yet I am the owner
Canvas with these lyrics
You can see it then you can hear it
Set all my goals
I'ma 'bout to clear it
Can hear it now, no need to fear it
I'm moving forward from the past
Put my story on the dash
Life is a highway
Do it my way
Determination is the gas
You ain't first
You accept the last
Keep on moving, never crash
Had a few
Now we have a mass
Give you my story while in class
Let it last

[Hook]
(Take a look past our innocence)
I'm just trying write a story worth smiling for
(Take a step back to yesterday)
This is our time
Worth fighting for
(When life would move slower, we would never grow up
All we knew that love was for when we're older
Anything could happen, secretly imagine
They could never tear us apart too young to fall
This is our story, that we could take back some day
Our lonely glory, that we could get back)

[Verse 2]
Hit them with a vigorous flow
This the only life that I know
Don't pretend, no way you don't know
Live your own life and just go
'Cause it's not the same, not the same
Never change, be you
Ne-ne-never change, keep your lane
Never be see through
Wisdom comes with age
And time doesn't make you older
Spill my heart on every page
No wonder it's feeling colder
I'm just writing down my story
Working to get it better
Jot some punchlines all day
Like I was Mayweather
Now I put everything I got in these words
To the mic, to the ear, to the soul right for you
Can you feel it now?
Better buzz now like I open a can of Coca-Cola
I thought I told you we're next to blow
Mind stay steady and here we go
Perfecting the craft
Every line, every note
Better put it all blast
If you're new to the show
Like damn, this the story but also the plan
Make your hands go as high as they can
Do it for the love, for the team, and the fans
This all here, so give me your hands
So understand that we just try to get it right
This our life story and this is how I story write

[Hook]
(Take a look past our innocence)
I'm just trying write a story worth smiling for
(Take a step back to yesterday)
This is our time
Worth fighting for
When life would move slower, we would never grow up
All we knew that love was for when we're older
Anything could happen, secretly imagine
They could never tear us apart too young to fall
This is our story, that we could take back some day
Our lonely glory, that we could get back

[Outro]
This is our story
That we could take back some day
Our hope, if only
We could take back

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

When We Were Young
Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.
