[Intro: Bruce Lee]
I said, "Empty your mind"

[Verse]
Yeah, yeah
Let me get the mic and set it straight
All your bars are paperweight
Been generating classics
Hittin' like kamehameha waves
Feelin' the feelin we're at
Don't wanna hurt your feelings
'Cause this shit is too the moon
And you won't even patch the ceiling
Can you feel it?
'Cause all you biting rappers are just gimmicks
But my flow is like a navy ship
You're like a Honda Civic
Gotta get it
Bettin' native no tellin' where I'm spreading
'Cause no night con could capture where I'm headed
Gotta' harder drivin' PCs
Hybrid of many species
All these rappers say there next
When it's just bass mixed with feces
Addicted to this work until my throat is sore and weak
But I can tell its coming soon, 'cause I've been staring at the peak
It's time to eat
Ramen is just really second nature
Disintegrate the greats with just a single sheet of paper
Catching a buzz like a swattin' ass and b's
I'm on my game and I won't freeze
Feel it coming a strong breeze

[Bruce Lee]
"When I look around, I always learn something and that is to be always yourself. And to express yourself. To have faith in yourself. Do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it..."

[Verse 2]
I'm a mechanical animal eatin' rappers a cannibal
Killin' beats so practical
Shootin' bars on a catapult
So radical
They used to say that I just sound so basic
I was so utterly hated
And now they just think I'm a make it
I ain't playin' these games
I got my team on my side
I don't need a transformer to show that I'm in my prime
Always out of my mind and I don't know how I'm alive
I get like five hours of sleep for every week that I write
See this is brain food
Same dude
Hella rude
I came too
Make your hottest verse sound like you just came out of grade school
Every line I'm just speakin' the truth
Go get a couple of pens and then you can see it go loose
I'm making impossible possible
Turnin' maybes to probables
Philosophical mind I put it down in the rhymes
Walking down the street I'm always lookin' for signs
Yeah born a 96' I've been ahead of my time
Yeah

[Bruce Lee]
"But if you do not have a style, if you just say: Well, here I am as a human being, how can I express myself totally and completely? Now, that way you won't create a style, because style is a crystallization. That way, it's a process of continuing growth."

[Verse 3]
Yeah
This is it
Now it's just time to go and get it
My blood sweat and tears in the mic I'm embedded
Read the next and they dread it
So now they just give me the credit
'Cause they said it couldn't happen, now the music is spreadin'
Now I'm livin' the life
Like a king but a pawn [or] upon
'Cause no one is below me
But just know that I'm on
'Cause the future is comin'
So no more duckin' and runnin'
Yet now it's time to be somethin'
So we just gotta be huntin'
For that revenue
We're stayin' true
'Cause this is what I came to do
Started with a vision
Now I see it and it's incredible
I'm just tryin' to be one of the best in my lane
Yet every second I'm gettin' better
So you better know the name
Just to drag in on the mic
While I'm spewing this flame
They try to drown me in hate
But they didn't know that I'm the drain
Replicated Hiroshima the day that I stepped in the game
This whole thing is just a staircase one step closer to fame

[Bruce Lee]
"Like they always copy mannerism, but they never start from the very root of his being and that is, how can I be me?"

[Verse 4]
See I'm close to a vision that not many thought wouldn't happen
Was trapped inside the mind while everybody was laughin'
I spill my heart on every page
While these lyrics were stackin'
I put years into this craft
Now everybody is clappin'
I see it
It's comin'
Like an incomin' collision it's my mission to give you music that is deeper than the deepest incisions
So listen now
'Cause something got lost it
But I swear if you got a decent flow they say you sound like Logic
But there's money in these line and I'm a make a deposit
Look
The next to come up
Like I woke the sun up
How can you be number one when I always one up?

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
