Hey baby it's alright
You can come to my house tonight
I'll give directions here
A couple of hours and you'll be near
Take the road right out of town
Check your gas and oil is sound
Watch the road you'll be alright
And you can drive right through the night

Here it comes
The road let's go
The radio
As far as we can go
Here it comes
The road let's go
The radio
As far as we can go, here it comes

Take the road down to the stream
Be sure to keep your licence clean
Better slow down for the lights
There's a cop up there who sits up all night
Take the hill in second gear
And you can see my house from here
And the way my heart is beating
You'll hear the sound
It'll wake the sleeping

Here it comes (here it comes)
The road let's go (turn on)
The radio (let's go)
As far as we can go
Here it comes (here it comes)
The road let's go (turn on)
The radio (let's go)
As far as we can go, here it comes

Leave the car by the broken gate
Cut the engine pull the brake
Take a stroll along the path
You'll find my key beneath the mat
Throw your bag down by the bed
Pull a comb across your head
Take a line, it'll be alright
And we'll get stoned all through the night

Here it comes (here it comes)
The road let's go (turn on)
The radio (let's go)
As far as we can go
Here it comes (here comes)
The road let's go (turn on)
The radio (let's go)
As far as we can go

Here it comes (here it comes)
The road let's go (turn on)
The radio (let's go)
As far as we can go
Here it comes (here it comes)
The road let's go (turn on)
The radio (let's go)
As far as we can go

Here it comes (here it comes)
The road let's go (turn on)
The radio (let's go)
As far as we can go
Here it comes (here it comes)
Here it comes (here it comes)
Here it comes (let's go)
Here it comes

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
