Now you've become
Everything you claimed to fight
Through your need to feel you're right
You're the savior of nothing now

When you were a young one
They tormented you
They could always find a way to make you feel ashamed
Now that you are older
Everything they put you through
Left you with an anger that just cannot be contained

So you spend every day of your life
Always searching for something to set
You on fire

Now you've become
Everything you claimed to fight
Through your need to feel you're right
You're the savior of nothing now

Everywhere around you
You find reasons to
Turn into a warrior to protect what you believe
But you think their beliefs
Make them less than you
And that is a delusion that your sickness has conceived

Now you spend every day of your life
Always hoping that something will spark
That desire

Now you've become
Everything you claimed to fight
Through your need to feel you're right
You're the savior of nothing now

Now you've become
Everything you claimed to fight
Through your need to feel you're right
You're the savior of nothing now
You've become
Everything you claimed to fight
Through your need to feel you're right
You're the savior of nothing now

    My Interpretation

A wake up call to someone who has gone so far to prove their point or claim they are right that they've become what they were trying to fight against.

The mentions of "Turn into a warrior to protect what you believe" and "But you think their beliefs | Make them less than you" suggests it may be referring to social justice warriors championing against the things they obviously do themselves, but it could be broadened to include any extreme groups that go too far.

    General Comment

I believe this song is a message from Republicans and Democrats, Liberals and Conservatives, social justice warriors and anti-social justice warriors, that sort of thing. All of these group bash their opponents for things they do themselves. They're all hypocrites. So, if you're on one side or another, even if you win the fight, you're just doing and going to continue to do the same things you bashed them for doing. All of these groups think that they are the saviors of mankind, but they are really the saviors of nothing.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
