It takes time to blow, say it ain't so
(stuck in the middle of it)
To wise to know, oh here we go
(we've grown so used to it)
So numb on the time
How have we become so empty?
Over complicated
(you're all to blame)
Over saturated
(it's such a shame)
It's all who you know
Death undertow
(we all fall victim to it)
All chemical
Where have we gone?
(or we're just used to it)
So numb on the time
How have we become so empty?
Over complicated
(you're all to blame)
Over saturated
(it's such a shame)
The weak cannot feel
How can we heal at all?
If we're over medicated
(we're all to blame)
Here we are
Once again
How'd we get here?
Will it end?
Look at you lost with separation
Complicated!
There's no one left to blame
You're just a shell of a man left wasted
Medicated!
I'm standing on the outside looking in
Over complicated
(you're all to blame)
Over saturated
(it's such a shame)
The weak cannot feel
How can we heal at all?
If we're over medicated
(we're all to blame)
(stuck in the middle of it)
To wise to know, oh here we go
(we've grown so used to it)
So numb on the time
How have we become so empty?
(you're all to blame)
Over saturated
(it's such a shame)
Death undertow
(we all fall victim to it)
All chemical
Where have we gone?
(or we're just used to it)
So numb on the time
How have we become so empty?
(you're all to blame)
Over saturated
(it's such a shame)
The weak cannot feel
How can we heal at all?
If we're over medicated
(we're all to blame)
Once again
How'd we get here?
Will it end?
Look at you lost with separation
Complicated!
There's no one left to blame
You're just a shell of a man left wasted
Medicated!
I'm standing on the outside looking in

The weak cannot feel
How can we heal at all?
If we're over medicated
(we're all to blame)

I believe this song is about drug abuse and/or the addiction to prescription pain meds, both of which can be deadly. Instead of working through their pain or inner turmoil some people will start using drugs again or prescription pain meds, it becomes a viscous cycle. This cycle of self medication can lead to death, it's like trying to a solve a problem with another problem instead of getting alternative help like a therapist or psychiatrist for example.
