My Name Is Human Lyrics

Okay

I'm feeling the way that I'm feeling myself
Fuck everyone else
Gotta remember that nobody is better than anyone else, here
(Do you need some time to think it over?)
Look what they do to you
Look what they do to me
Must be joking if you think that either one is free, here

Get up off your knees, girl
Stand face to face with your God
And find out what you want
(Hello, my name is human)
Hello, my name is human
And I came down from the stars
(Hello, my name is human)

I'm ready for love and I'm ready for war
But I'm ready for more
I know that nobody's ever been this fucking ready before, hey
(Do you need some time to think it over?)
So figure it out or don't figure it out
I figured it out
The bigger the river (the bigger the river)
The bigger the drought (the bigger the drought)

Get up off your knees, boy
Stand face to face with your God
And find out what you want
(Hello, my name is human)
Hello, my name is human
And I came down from the stars
(Hello, my name is human)

Fire world, I love you
Fire world

I'm up off my knees, girl
I'm face to face with myself
And I know who I am
(Hello, my name is human)
I stole my power from the sun
I'm more than just a man
(No longer disillusioned)

(I'm not asking questions)
('Cause questions have answers)
(And I don't want answers)
I came down from the stars (so I'll take my chances)
(And what are the chances)
(That I could advance)
(On my own circumstances)
(Said "what are the chances?")
Hello, my name is human (and what are the chances?)
(I don't want your answers)
(I'm not asking questions)
(So you keep your answers)
And I know who I am (so you keep your answers)
(I'm not asking questions)
(I'm taking my chances)

It's basically saying fuck you to religion. We all came from the stars, Everything in the universe came from the stars. He doesn't need the answers from religion because he knows it's all bullshit.

He tells "the girl" and "the boy" to stand face to face with their god, which is impossible, and tells them he's up off his knees(no longer praying to a fake god) and is now face to face with himself because he is the one in control, and not some god.

Song Meaning

@l187l Pretty bold statement. Here's a question...where did the stars come from? You folks that have a problem with God are good at going on about how much God isn't real...but you don't ever have answer to the question.

Nobody does. Not for certain.

@Ryan110860 while science doesn't claim to be the know all end all what is know to day starts are made from the dust comes from the supernovae of other stars. After the Big Bang (a theory first made to prove god) approximately 13.7 billion years ago the there was only helium and hydrogen. These chemical made stars, stars millions took millions of years to make supernovae (die). This formed other chemical such as carbon fundamental to make life. (at least all life as we know) you may say but its a theory well in science theory are...

@l187l I almost can't comprehend how beautiful this is.

Standing face to face with yourself, waking up, ready not to be your own god, but your own human.

Thank you.

Define "Disillusion"..... Verb - cause (someone) to realize that a belief or an ideal is false. Synonyms - Enlighten, set straight, open someones eyes....

Perhaps we can adjust our perspective; see things from a different angle, perhaps under a different light...to see it almost for the first time. Marilyn Manson reflected upon God...He went to God just to see and found he was looking at himself.

Learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable, open-mindedness; Chaotic, confused, vulnerability to inform yourself

Stand up from your prayers and find your true God.

We have been created from a big bang and have evolved into human beings.

There is no "personified" God.

I personally find myself more in touch with a God through mother nature and the sun.

The "sun" of God is our true savior and also categorizes as a "star".

Feel what you feel and #### everyone else.

Nobody can tell you how to open your third eye, you'll never find the answer if you're unwilling to see yourself and be rest assured that you're comfortable with what and who you are.

Take the chance, buy the ticket....take the ride!

My Interpretation

@Gonz0 Would enjoy having a convo with you my woke friend.

Call on God, but row away from the rocks my friend.

Hello guys. I had to put the pen on the paper cuz this song has affected on me a lot. I mean a lot. And by the way I'm not a native English speaker so don't judge me please. (Y)

As I said, this song is a special to me right now. I see it has a certain message: digitalization. The over power of electric weapons and social media has changed us hugely. That's a fact.

I see that this song is based on quite near future, when everyone loses their personalities and we give in because the social media power is so overwhelming. I can't explain it phrase by phrase but I can read it between the lines. Movies like I, Robot or I am Legend, can tell the story.

Maybe the whole album is about humane approaches vs. future human beings. I'm not sure. Go figure it out yourself.

My Interpretation

@sami-matti
Great explanation. I didn’t see it in this way but now i can’t see it any other.

Get up of your knees girl, stand face to face with YOUR GOD

Get up off your knees boy, Stand face to face with YOUR GOD.

I'm up off my knees boy, I'm face to face with MY SELF.

He is saying there is no god.

My Interpretation

@anthony6zb ???? Exactly. I actually came here to say this exact thing. To me, this song is not only saying there is no god, but that humanism is where it is at. Once you stare into the abyss of a godless universe, and accept it, you can look at the majesty of nature and the unlikeliness of our existence as a superpower.

@anthony6zb he is saying that Devine intervention happens when you intervene with yourself. Now, with that said, there’s a lot of atheism on here (and that’s fine as an opinion—such as mine) but even in the scriptures God isn’t willing to help those unwilling to help themselves.

I think this song is saying to be who you want to be and believe what you want to believe. No matter what god you believe in your taking your chances on being correct. He knows who he is so he doesn't have any questions and therefor doesn't need their answers.

Superman purhaps ?? 'And I came down from the stars (Hello, my name is human)

I'm up off my knees, girl I'm face to face with myself And I know who I am (Hello, my name is human)

I stole my power from the sun

I'm more than just a man

@Rodrivy Totally what I was thinking as well. haha

I think this song is about us waking up spiritually and realizing how powerful & incredible we are. Realizing that we no longer need gods or religions, and that we're capable of far more than we've been led to believe. We are our own gods. and our time is now.

@john105847 I've been saying this for years. When someone asks if I believe in god, I always answer "yeah me." They think I'm being narcissistic, so I have to explain how we are the only ones in control of our lives and the closest thing to a god is yourself.

I take it as a song telling people to stop looking for something bigger to save them and to stand up and take control of their own fate. I don't find it it to be anti religion but rather it's saying that we are humans and we were given the power to correct our own future.

00:01 Figure draped in black is suspended from ceiling by two black cables representing technology of the past being dependent upon wires. 00:07 Cables disappear as man walks closer representing the fact that modern technology is stand-alone and needs no tether. 00:10 The figure begins to emit light as the man removes the black cloth covering the figure representing the idea that it is a living being. The man throws the black cloth to the ground and approaches the figure in a stern manner representing the idea that he is in charge. He knows he is working with something unknown and un-tested. 00:14 Once the cloth is removed you will see that the figure is wearing a black robe. This figure represents the evil which is inherent in artificial intelligence. It is expression-less due to the fact that it has no emotions. 00:18 you see an android face with warning signs affixed on the cheeks representing the fact that what they are assembling is potentially dangerous. 00:23 The android is being assembled by robot arms, such as are used in auto-assembly plants. It is important to note that the robots assembling the android are capable of only simple tasks, such as up, down, in, out, etc... 00:28 The robot arm on the left inserts a small tube with a lighted probe into the back of the android. 00:31 The android leans back and then forward as the eyes change from black to blue. 00:38 and again at 00:50 you will see that the android is looking at, and is aware of the robot tools used to create it. 01:30 The android looks at it's hands as it becomes self-aware. 01:36 The finished android is standing looking forward as if half-aware. A light is pulsating from her chest. 02:00 The man is doing the finishing touches in order to create a more human-looking android. 02:14 The peacock represents man's pride and also God's perfection. Man's pride is what has led man to attempt to create artificial intelligence, without regard to the dangers.
02:18 The man checks his watch, as if to say we are running out of time. 02:20 The man is looking at his creation with the more human-like head attached. 02:24 Android sitting on table covered in black spikes as dress form on stand comes into view on left. The android in black spikes represents the idea that she is a weapon. 02:29 The man rests his arm on the dress form as he contemplates the fact that this android could be used as a weapon. 02:39 The android curiously approaches the peacock and extends her hand to it as the man watches. 02:43 The peacock turns away representing the idea that nature rejects any attempt at artificial intelligence. 02:45 The android is in a chamber being fed huge amounts of data through cables coming from the eight white computer looking boxes surrounding her. There are many other black computers in the background. 02:50 Energy can be seen jumping from the cables into the bottom of the chamber. 02:52 The android is now self aware, and also aware of the fact that she was created by humans, not simple robots. 02:54 Crystals begin to grow on the androids chest as well as on the floor all around her. Seconds later she is covered in blue crystals. The crystals represent the idea that humans evolved from crystalline DNA. 03:07 The man is looking at his finished creation. 03:15 2 Androids are being programmed in tubes in the background. 03:18 The 3 androids are exploring and becoming aware of their environment. 03:26 An android holding and android arm appears to the left. This represents the android's ability to build more androids themselves without the assistance of humans.
03:33 The man is trimming black feathers from the androids dress. He trims one off and tosses it to the ground. This represents removing the imperfections of the past. 03:51 The dress form has been laid down. This represents the fact that it is no longer useful. 03:55 The man is standing in a room filled with scores of androids representing the idea that man will be outnumbered by androids which are self aware and as human as you or me.. 04:02 the man and the android are standing together representing the ultimate union of man and machine. she is leaning on his shoulder to represent the idea that she now has emotion. She is a machine which has been given self-awareness by the addition of the same crystalline DNA that created us. He is content knowing that he created a being which mirrors our own state of being, half human-half machine. We are dependent upon technology but technology is no longer dependent upon us. In the future Intelligent androids with human DNA will build even more intelligent androids, let's just hope that they have empathy for us.
